Title: GM Flare 707
Post by: tc2584 on October 11, 2011, 11:33:13 AM
Just wondering if anyone has any experience of this bat?

Is it any good?

It is slightly different to the bats I have currently (Hattori, Oblivion, Ice), and am interested to give it a try.

Thanks

you have asked a veryt broad question in is it any good?

it depends on your style of play, and whether you get a decent one!

There are a Variety of opinions on a) the Flare and b) the 707 and 808 grade of bat.

I don't like the pick up of it, as I felt that for a bat with a high middle, it had a really rubbish pick up, and the rebound of the mallet on an 808 was very disappointing.

Thread discussing it here: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=12235.msg196447#msg196447

Thanks.

Just reread my post and it is a bit vague!

Was looking at a 707. I'll read yours Tim.

I think with the GM's you are better going for the lowest model in the grade and ignoring looks. Some right deals on Flare 707 at JJB instore - £44.99. The one I saw looked stunning.

Can't comment on performance, middle a little high for my liking but will suit some people (opening batsman, good cutter/pullers). Pickup ok, but I prefer the Icon. If you find a good example at the right price, take a punt, it's a GM after all.
