JJB appear to have a stock of uniquely branded Kookaburra bats in terms of the number series.
Usually the base model of the Blade is "250", rather than the "300" they are selling here.

Do these have the bleached edges and backs?

Don't know quite which they are, but I did notice in my local JJB that there are two grades of calibre 2000. The 3 star is horrible painted and fake grains, the 4* looked nice natural willow. Not bad for £38.
-
Tempted to take the risk for £32.99, but I cant stand the painted back!

If memory serves then yes the £32 ones were painted.
-
Reverting back to topic, anyone gone for the Blade 300?
-
been very tempted to buy the flare 303 from sports direct for £20 and sand down the painted area to see what's underneath.

i bought one as i thought i would take the risk - painted back, stuck on grains + horrendous pick up! tried to sell it on ebay but have decided to send it back for a refund as i would feel bad about someone buying something so horrible from me!

Terribly sorry, I'll go and make a seperate thread for the Puma.
-
anyone ever bought an g&m apex 404? - i know its bleached willow but for £27 i thought its worth a go!!
-
I'm sure i read somehwere on here that GM classes anything with heartwood as a really low grade and used it as a 303/404 etc, if thats the case there must be some beauts about for cheap.
-
might not see the heartwood tho as its bleached!! but worth a go for that price!
-
I just picked up a 606 hero for not much and cant for the life of me see why it's grade 3 willow I've seen grade1/2 willow that is not as pretty and felt grade 1 bats that are not as responsive

I have just bit the bullet and brought the 404 model. For £26.99 including delivery, I really cant complain. I will post pictures when it arrives!
-
I bought the gm flare 707 from jjb sale for 45 quid. Very happy with what i got.At least there is peace of mind that it can be returned easily if you don't like it.

I think this Puma Kinetic 2000 is very good bargain, if you hover the picture see the face (nice clean face). It also looks big for 2.9 to be honest

It Will be a stock photo, JJB doesn't show actual pictures of the bat you get
-
You sure? I heard people saying same thing for ProDirect so I bought a bat and the picture was actual image
-
Positive. JJB is a massive company with hundreds of shops nationwide, ProDirect is probably a one man online shop with the time to put actual pictures on there website.

For what its worth, I got a 4* Oblivion from Sports Direct and it absolutely isn't the bat in the picture!
-
Ah make sense cheers guys
-
Pro direct is a big outfit based in Devon and sell a lot of kit of various sports!!

Perfectly true, but no way do jjb take individual stock photos of each bat. Of the model mentioned by CD, there were at least 8 in my local branch at the start of the season...it just isn't feasible.

Kookaburra said it was grade 2 EW so i ordered one yesterday! See what i get, worth the risk at that price! 8-)

That Blade is better than my mates Blade 950, seriously!
-
34mm edges at 2.8 as well. Will post pics of the adidas later, seriously impressive bat!
-
I got a really nice Blade 500 from the Hut. Big edges and nice face, excellent pickup.
-
The Blade 300 pictured by hit4six looks top quality. I did order a 300 too from JJB but cosmetically not in the same league. Knew it would be somewhat of a lucky dip.
