Does anyone on here keep or field (not in slips, somewhere you slide a lot or move a lot) in spiked up running shoes. Always considered getting a pair but always thought they'd get ruined on the fielding side of things...
-
That's going a bit too far imo.
Unless you're a pro there's no real need to worry about getting the ever ever ever so slightest improvement with having light footwear.

+1 - Agree completely. Really doesn't make any difference at Amateur level.

i'll rephrase, spiked running trainers like asics or nike pegasus... not running spikes :) (its more for comfort)
-
Ah, that makes more sense lol.
Well when I can, I always try and wear Running Trainers as they are more comfortable than cricket spikes. However any sort of dew on the field and you have to wear spikes otherwise you go everywhere, I wouldn't get any running trainers spiked as that's the point in cricket boots isn't it?

a lad i know has them fielding. says he can run much faster in them and they are dead light

i know what your saying but my feet hate asics, nike, puma and adidas cricket boots, but love certain nike running shoes...i know many people have spiked up running trainers but didint know if they had fielded in them..

Why wouldn't you? If you've gone to the trouble of spiking up the trainers, you might as well!

Hi - I have some Nike trainers spiked - I have played a few games in them now too - I realy like them - I don't really slide/dive so can't answer that much - but they are great for running in and are lighter than my ASIC gel gully 2 spikes.
Will they get ruined - probably - but isn't that the same for all cricket shoes.
Not a cheap date though... average price of £50 for the nikes - plus £30 for the spiking and possibly £10 to post the trainers to get spiked...
-
yeah i did think you'd got them buzz thats why i added in the moving/sliding bit in the field ;)
I just wondered if the life span of these compared to normal cricket shoes was different..
-
realistically as they are not designed for cricket and as they have a different sole put on, I think it is reasonable to suggest they wont last as long.
Having said that I know a few guys who have their spiked trainers for ages...
