a mate of mine from aus asked me to make a bat for him. he wanted a grade 2 cleft 2lb8 and a bit with antiscuff toe guard and 2 cheveron grips, spine the length of the blade and concaved. comes out 2lb8.5 on my scales. Pics arent great so sorry for that. think i need to update the camera. Given it a good buffing and its come up nice and shiney. looks alot better in real life. just cant get that shiney pic!
let me know what you think

Fantastic!

Not only have you made a great looking bat, you've made buzz's day

Absolutely I love it when people on a "custom bats" forum actually make a "custom bat"!!! :)
-
im glad you like it Buzz. seems you get as much enjoyment out of seeing them as i do making them.
-
Seeming stuff like that really makes me want to start shaping or making bats. Not really got the space living in a flat though :(
-
im quite lucky, ive taken over the garage. nothing else in there apart from bat making kit. turning out to be a nice little workshop. Just change the dining/coffee table into a bench, stick a vice on it and away you go! lol
-
looks fantastic how much lol
-
already sold unforutunately but im more than happy to make you one.

I'm only interested if you have a Pro to hand who can watch you make it!

to make sure i do it right?
no, to make it a pro's bat i think kulli means!!
-
sorry i thought he ment a pro bat maker not player. Unfortunately i dont know any pro players but if anybody does and wants to send one round ill make you one and charge you as much as i can lol!

Looks very nice, Good work.

I reckon even a poster of a famous batsman next to you while you're doing it should be enough to ensure pro levels of mega ping. :D

now that is something i think i can do. any particular player?
-
I think if you have Tendulkar, Dravid, Ponting and Boarder you will have enough Test and ODI runs to classify as having a normal pro in your workshop!!
-
Do they have to be up all the time or just when i make the special pro bats?
-
all the time!!! make u tea n the lot
-
no simmy! surely only when he wants to make the uber pinging special pro boundary hitting every ball 60mm edges on a 2lb 2oz 50 straight grained bats do the pro posters need to be there!
-
if only that was possible. it would have to be an eye in bat to weigh that and have edges that big
-
because the edge size is the least of the problems about the bat i listed ;)
seriosuly though looks a good'un, you seem to be a natural!
-
well they seem to be getting better anyway. just gotta get the sanding down to a fine art now and were getting there. hopefully get plenty more practice. got a few clefts left at home to have a play with
