But obviously there are the cosmetics and profile of a bat, but lots of people also base how classy a bat looks with the stickers! I still think the older style 2003 M&H black stickers are superb and the Cadbury type Newbury stickers too! The Voodoo stickers as mentioned are lovely and the Retro M&H Original ones!
But when it boils down to it, I would happily take a blank bat which performs superbly over cosmetic looks!  ;)

I've been looking at that newbery and first thought they had ruined it by having that splice that colour, but I think it gives it a bit of character over and normal one that would blend in

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Jonpinson's signature for me is perfection.

Do you not think they ripoff Newbery a bit? It all seems very similar.

Maybe, but newbery are quite 'competitively' priced, and the stuff that I have had from them always broke.
I also think they have taken a decent brand and developed it into a better one.

It is understandable as the man who created Woodstock was very high up at Newberry for 5 years.

Really? I was under the impression that he didn't really have anything to do with running the company and was mostly involved in the office side of things?

All hearsay guys. Mike was adamant that the guy knew nothing about bats at the time. We don't know either way.

quite right opener,we don't know for sure either way,i've met the guy a few times and he certainly does know his stuff-IMO...
i'd rather deal with him than someone as untrustworthy and shady as the other bloke mentioned that's for sure.

A friend of mine told me about this company of which I had never heard of. He said the owner/batmaker worked at Newbery for 5 years and then opened his company.

Was just going by this, don't know if it's reliable.

John knows about the supply chains and what makes a good bat. He ran the Newbery shop. Surrounded by bats and working closely with the Keeley brothers it's hard not to soak up some knowledge!

The Willostix I spoke about. The sticker's a bit low and shiny, but otherwise I really like it. Something a bit different.

Depends on who you talk to as to how senior that's considered to be!

Agreed, that sticker looks a bit too much like I did it myself,

If that was laser etched/burnt in it would look permanent and awesome.

Thats my opinion, but then I love the romance of "your grandpas" cricket bat from 1950 in the garage which still has the name "burnt" into the wood, I dont know how it was done "back in the day"

I have a tool for wood "etching". It's a bit like a soldering iron. Etched own brand bats on their way...

I cant help but think that the new GN100 is one of the nicest bats out there at the moment. I will be purchasing mine on Thursday from Asad, and I think it looks top notch!
