After a wake up call from the neighbours cat at 8:15, I thought it would be best to make an earlier start to the day and get into the workshop.
I had purchased an oversized cleft from H4L and my plan was to make the biggest bat I could for at around 3lb 2oz. I have a few mates who requested bats around this size and this was just a prototype lets say to see how big a bat we could get. I will be selling this bat on eBay in the next few days so if you fancy it, please feel free to PM me! The cleft itself had nice grains and I was extremely pleased with what I got.
I was going for mid-middled bat, huge edges and an exaggerated profile. The bat comes in at 3lb 2oz, with 45mm edges! Very pleased with how the bat has turned out. It took around 4 hours from start to finish, and my hands are covered in blisters, but well worth the effort!!
Find below some pictures of it the bat before/during/after:
