As the subject says. I'm interested to see how what people actually use.
Obviously some of use would like more or less but this is to see how many people actually have
Reds :
-
I have no idea, I haven't counted, not on my old bat, or any of the 3 I am thinking of using next season.
-
No idea. An average amount I'd say. Never bothered counting - mine's here so you can count if you want!(http://i493.photobucket.com/albums/rr293/tim2000s/Instinct01.jpg)
-
For me the number of grains doesn't really matter. Just as long as the thing pings.....thats what counts! But to answer your question my H4L 666 LE has 11 grains.
-
Only about 8/9ish on both of my match bats - im not a massive grain lover to be honest and out of the bats I have I've found around the 8/9/10ish mark they seem to perform better.
-
Well I'm debating using Peter tregos bat next season (probes won't tho it will end up framed )
But that has 21 :o
-
SEVEN!
-
15 or so. But I picked it solely on pick-up and after tapping it up. Will probably be changing next season, and will not be fussed about grains I suppose!
-
8 and 9 i think

-
13 straigh grains but it doesnt really matter as long as it performs.
-
lets see, of four in my bag I have Newbery's with seven and nine, a Warsop with 15 and a (stickered) Bradbury with 18
-
I think the answer to your question is that we all use bats that we think ping something special, generally (and I'll confirm that buzzes selection do and he can confirm that mine does). Most, but not all, don't care about grains!
-
Simmy I hate you I want a hell for leather so bad just can't afford them :(
-
9 On my M&H Solution.

-
15 grains on mine, half heartwood.
-
8 grains on my BAS Vampire stickered up by owzat cricket.
-
About 10 on my Laver Reserve which will probably be my match bat for next season......haven't used it yet though..........broken wrist :(
-
There's 23 on my Distinction though got a Laver Ultra on it's way over soon so may trump it as my match bat.
-
8 on mine
-
14 on last seasons, next season's is still undecided
-
I'm winning the least amount of grains at the moment ;)
-
About 8/9. The one on the right in this pic just for shaq :D

Beat you Colesy - my GM has 6!!! Although that may change as I have taken delivery of my H4L Hattori - will get pics up when I can work out how to use the wife's camera....
-
Need someone to take that GM off your hands?
-

crazy kook (likely to be Fattus Cattus' bat in reality)!!:
and there may be one or two more bats I have, but don't have pictures of at the moment

7-12 is nice for me. :)
-
Not decided on which bat wil be for matches next season, the two contenders have 9 and 15 grains respecively.
-
7 on my Salix
-
That £99 Laver I'll be using as a match bat has 8 grains. And that Kook is nothing - I used to have a Hunts bat that had (literally) grains in S shapes. Went like a gun though!
-
Current match bats - 10 and 12 grains
The all time minimum was 6 (wobbly ones) I think and the max 24/25. I fully agree with the views expressed by most people that that no. of grains does not impact the performance in any meaningful way.
-
12 on my new chase...2 of them heartwood on inside edge :)
-
In the past I have found that (in general) bats with fewer grains have taken a little longer to play in and loosen up. Whereas bats with more grains seem to go well from the off! But it is also supposed to be a rule that bats with more grains have a shorter life, althogh I can't confirm this from my experience yet!
-
pete, what do you class as a large amount of grains?
-
I'd say 0-7 few
8-12 average
13 or more a lot
-
Around 10-12 :)

They (the ones I'd consider trying in a match...) - all have 10 grains or less. I think...
-
7 but it goes like a rocket.
-

I wondered how long it would take for you to ask that question! I'm afraid these are staying with me. Cracking bats - only got them towards the end of the season, looking forward to using them next summer :D
-
