Title: Malik bats
Post by: Village Trundler on November 12, 2011, 10:43:47 AM
I've been looking at a few new bats to continue my assault on the duck award this season.

One of the fellas in the team who is not in contention for that award has a Malik Bubber Sher, which pings like a legend. I've been thinking of picking one up, I'm looking for around 2.9 - 2.10 and found something perfect on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/MB-Malik-cricket-bat-Bubber-Sher-Limited-Edition-Twin-Cleft-2-9-2-10-lbs-/250911810763?pt=AU_Cricket_Sporting_Equipment&hash=item3a6b8264cb

It also claims to be "twin cleft", which I guess means its a laminate? No dramas if it is, I need every damn advantage I can get.

Has anyone had any experience with Malik bats, particularly the bubba sher and particularl the "twin cleft"?

a) Are they generally good bats, or did my mate just luck out? He said he only spent 1/2 that.

b) Is it worth $500 AU (322 pounds - remembering we generally get hosed in Australia on English willow products)

c) Buying from Ebay....... I understand the risks, but is there any questions I can ask to minimise the risk of getting a plank?

d) Wife aggro..... How do you avoid it when another cricket bat arrives?

Ouch, I remember picking up two of these for only £140 each!
As Malik are a Pakistani brand, you could try some specialised cricket retailers such as Cricmall, Bats&More and Sialkot Shop.

VT - that is such a massive price to pay for a Malik lam! I paid less for a true Afridi match lam (not that he would ever use a lam in a match of course!!)
That would be crazy to fork out that wedge!!

Aqureshi would be able to sort you with some stunning MB Maliks as I have seen some drinkers in his shop!!! No need to spend that fella  :(

I guess. But surely it's cheaper to have it sent over and risk some extra charges? It would surely work out cheaper still, even if you did have to pay a bit extra for duties?

I have Bubber Sher and LE,. The LE I have was in batch of bats which were made for Shahid Afridi.

Since I'm from Pakistan I see lots lots of MB Malik in Pakistan and they are quite common here.

To be honest these MB Malik bats are GUN! Once they open up they ping like a legend as you said. My Bubber Sher is at its peak and believe me it pings very well!

Plus finishing on MB LEs is amazing too!

The price you are paying is like for 2 MB LEs if you buy from Pakistan or a Pakistani retailer. Try the ones people have suggested above cheapest I reckon will be with SialkotShop who can ship you to Australia.

Overall I rate the MB Malik bats very very high.

Let me know if you have any specific question, I'll answer it
