I am looking to go down to Newbery at the end of the month to pick you some bats/protection. Has anyone been recently? Is it worth the 120 mile drive each way? Keen to hear if the ugly bin is still there?!

I went a couple of years back around this time of year. They only had samples of their new gear but plenty of the last years stuff. If you are planning on getting any of the new stuff it might be worth a call to check its in

ive been this time of year too-last year.there tends to be more choice.
If your not fussy about the very latest models yes it's worth a trip you can pick up a very good quality bat which may not be perfect cosmetically.
claire is very good there

Ive been there twice and definatly think its worth the trip but you dont mind the odd snide comment from the old guy thats there.

a couple of them down there are a bit funny with the public-presume they dont like visitors!
Some bloke told me not to bounce an old ball on the edges to which i replied:
''your bat's aint that good they go off the edges as well as the middle mate!!''
Clare is very helpful is she's about...
and good looking

I went to get a bat when i was 15 and ended up with with a 2.11 b52 and i got a lecture off the old guy saying why does someone so young need such a heavy bat
