Have a look at this and watch the video:

It's pretty amazing, and I was wondering if you could use it on cricket bats to repel water big time.

If you did how would you oil your bat to keep the correct moisture content?
-
Aah. I suppose you'd have to sand it down then do it again. Although I suspect the coating would lock moisture in.
-
Other uses could be;
Beer glass lined for speedy drinking
Coated on spikes so nothing in the kit bag gets wet, no one likes soggy pants!
Coated on the astro in the nets for a non skiddy session (stop them trundlers thinking they are quick)
-
I think it would sand off I suppose, don't think it would penetrate too deep. But good idea...think you would have to apply it a few times a year though but would be handy.
-
Using it on cricket shoes would be a good idea
-
Wouldn't be at all surprised if Dri Guard was something similar...
-
Yacht varnish has often been used on the toes of cricket bats.
-
Good to repel water but not so good if your bat cracked and it needed gluing.

Good point but I'm sure the water repellant would only protect the surface of the wood. So if the crack appeared after treatment them it shouldn't affect it right?

I am gonna put some of this neverwet stuff on the toe of my bat, don't see why not.
