However upon putti g the TI tonight the chin strap is just not big enough at all this is the xxl version of this helmet fits perfectly around head just not round chin any ideas ??
-
Have you tried closing your mouth?
-
Ha yea I don't get it the ayrtek fits perfectly there just don't seem to be anyway to make the strap any bigger
-
There should be. I had a big one and was able to adjust it.
-
It just seems to stay at the one size ??? Maybe my head is just mahoosive
-
do you really need a net helmet and a match helmet???
-
Well I got offers the TI helmet for a bargain price so couldn't really refuse !!
-
Fair play then.
The Masuri helmets in this year can be hard to adjust the strap but it can be done. Maybe take it into a cricket retailer whenever your going past and get one of the guys to fix it.

Yea good idea mate I'm going to Peter lorimer tomorro so will take with me

^this!

Like I said mate I got it for a bargain price s wasn't gonna turn it down

And I thought I was mad for wanting some cheap net gloves to save my M&H's for the games!
Seriously though, I need to be one with my helmet at all times (borderline "this is my rifle...." ;)) , your head is a massively important part of your technique, so I'd always look to use my proper (and only!) helmet at all times.

And also, I kind of bought my Masuri without really considering other options. I've got quite a 'long' head so I had to go for the Large size. At first I couldn't believe a lid (the first one I ever bought) costing such money and so highly regarded could be so uncomfortable. The sidways movement was crazy and It seriously felt like I was missing some padding on the inside or I had a duff helmet. Thankfully/Luckily I also have longish hair that needs to be held back, so stuck a sweat band on and then I was in helmet nirvana! It fitted, and held on, like a dream. So much so I couldn't tell you much difference now between a baseball cap and the Mas.
I suppose I'm in good company here to admit (for shame!) I initially took the Masuri on looks and reputation/heritage (and don't get me wrong, I'll never go back now), though frankly as a technical exercise (and if you don't mind your cricket gear looking as if it was made in the last 20 years, which I try not to!) then the Ayrtek's are a different league to the others. It's very impressive how a tiny player (in the business sense!) in the game has gone through the whole R&D process and manufactured a truly game changing (in the business sense!) piece of equipment, and should be massively congratulated IMO (obsequiousness over!).
Oh, and in response to your original point, you're right, the chin strap is crazy short. As the top part is wedged tightly around my 'dome', the bottom bit fits snugly between my chin and my neck, , merely to keep it flying back off.

My masuri fits perfectly and always has done. Sorry Tom, but I would only ever wear a Masuri, unless Ayrteks go a bit more traditional. But seeing as the shape is a big part of the technicality of the thing, it will never happen.
-
I love my ayrtek seems to fit my head a lot nicer than masuri , but then I don't have a bad word for masuri because they are nice too but my preference is defo my ayrtek
-
Nick there is no need to apologise...everyone is entitled to their own preference! I wont take offence if you dont use our product ;)

Lol yeah, plenty other people are wearing them after all. Just didn't want to sound like I was slating your product or anything. Could get some decent coverage if I wore one though :)
