Hi Guys,
Would like your suggestions for what bat to get,
I like to cut and drive, especially the cut shot.

I think that either the Puma Cobalt or the GM Epic would be good. Both bats have a long, extended middle and would be good for both shots. I would recommend the Puma, it picks up very well and is a really good bat.

what pitches do you play on & bowlers you face

Ok the pitches are generally quite quick and I face genuinely quick bowlers, weight wise I'm probably looking a lightish bat 2'7-2'8 but I like the bat to be BIG. My budget..........is premium........

Something with a long middle then I would say,  not too low middle as cant imagine lots of freebies so on offer so more driving on the up I would presume.  I like SAF & Andy's offset edge.

But maybe worth speaking to a batmaker lots on here i'm sure would help you get the bat right for you.

At that weight your options for a 'big' bat are going to be fairly limited. I'd look for something with a more traditional profile. Thinner edges, more meat in the middle. Big fat edges on a bat that light are wasted, all they do is widen the hitting zone not lengthen it and at that weight you'll end up with a less powerful bat. Seeing as how you especially like the cut shot you want a long middle not a wide one! Don't know what you are looking to spend but maybe a Redback Surefire or a Chase Volante (seen one recently that looked lovely) Or maybe something from the Salix range? Traditional profile though. Big edges mean nothing!!!!!!!!

I have a new chase lancer r11 that sounds like it would suit you quite well.

Mine weighs 2'7 and has 30mm edges so it isn't too small for the weight...

I think that costs £250 with their new ADS sheet as well at full price.

Speak to one of the forum sponsors, I'm sure they could provide you with a very nice bat for under what you would pay for a top end bat from the big names.

I want to purchase the bat from the workshop or a retailer, thanks for your offers but I'm just letting you guys I'm looking to purchase the bat myself. I'm looking at the GM epic, slazenger v360, h4l or laver and wood.

How are you going to purchase direct from the Laver and Wood workshop?

You could get a Reserve Ultra - someone else on here is getting one with 40mm edges that weighs 2lb 7oz.

Or alternatively stop asking for advice and just buy whatever you want?
