I went to SS with my son Uzi(sponsered by SS) today to handpick SS bats. He also went to pick up his bats.
Spent 5-6 hours with Jamaes Bening to go through almost all the bats they had and picked up all the best ones i could find in all the models. There were few pro players came to pick up their kit.
I was oly going to buy SS KP bats but came back with too many bats(Gladiators, Heritage, LE etc). My weakness is that i can't keep myself away from top performance bats. Any way i will post the photos very soon.

Asad

Its Kieron Pollard, don't be mistaken with Kevin Pieterson :)

My aim is to have the best bats available for players at Uzi Sports (from all the manufacturers).
-
You Super Sleuth you lol. you must be one of very few on here that didn't jump to the Petersen conclusion

And we players will have to rob a bank one day to shop at your shop Haha
-
Pollard has been sponsored by SS for a fairly long time now.
With the collection CD has, he is Uzi Sports' new warehouse in Canada ;)
-
I hate you Asad.

All bats are 2.7 to 2.9 and have edges around 39 to 40mm. These are not picked on their look but mainly how good their pick up and ping is.
Enjoy

Awesome looking willows here :o
Normally SS bats do not have these big edges.
Question: how do you check the ping while hand selecting bats? With a mallet? Old Ball?
-
Key is to bang mallet hard and hear the sound, if it's soft then it's good if not then it will require some knocking etc etc
By bang I don't mean you make a hole but hard enough to hear rebound properly
-
What price are we looking at asad?
-
Yeah-- making a hole in the wood would lead to a lot of raised eyebrows...sorry CD couldn't resist :D
-
Some really nice looking bats again Asad especially if picked on pickup + ping.
-
SS KP bats are aaded to the web site
-
Mate do you have any high end bats in light weights, around 2lb 6oz-7oz? I am open to brands.

Sent mate.

Lovely willow Asad as always, was just looking at these on the net.
-
Sometimes when I play a shot it seems as though theres a hole in my bat, perhaps I'm hittin them too hard with the mallet or is it I need glasses. lol
Serious question though, never known why the TON on the edges, seems an SFQ but why is it there

County or Nationals?
How tall are you mate. If you are still using junior pads get totr stuff, but from my experience the SS softs are fab. Or you could get some very low sitting adult pads from another brand if you were concerned about amount of protection..?
-
To be honest if you spend more than £45 on any pads then your gonna get enough protection as long as your not playing test match level. Go to a cricket shop, try all the pads on and whichever you like the most buy.
-
Would you recommend the SS Matrix Batting Pads for a junior cricketer playing at the highest level possible?
Definitely recommend SS Matrix pads. We also have Few 2009 Newbery SPS pads and Argis pads at discounted prices

The new ones we have received are semi oval
-
Asad what is the size difference between the SS junior pads and Puma junior pads??
-
nothing as both are made by the same maufacturer
-
Asad-- just wanted to give credit where it is due: your SS Matrix is just too good mate. It has transformed my season---- after averaging in single digits in my first 6 innings, I have scored a fifty in each of my last few once I started using it. Coincidence? I dont know but I do know that it is one of the best SS I have ever played with and I have played with a few. There is no bloody doubt that you handpick your bats and your selection is superbly dependable!!
Thanks,
Happy Kaustav :D
