Title: Drawknives
Post by: Village Trundler on December 21, 2011, 11:21:15 AM
Do you home bat makers prefer straight or curved drawknives when working on your bats?

I'm just gathering some tools to try and start some pod shaving.... got a no 4 plane and spokeshave..... just chasing the drawknife now!

I think it depends what you want to achieve - it is definitely worth getting a straight drawknife.  I have a straight drawknife and something called a coopers hollowing drawknife which I use for concaving, although it took a bit of getting used to.
