The bat testing certainly is fun... really not sure which will be my match bat next summer

in order - left to right -
custom concept bat - not used yet
New Saf - really lovely - tapping up a treat with a pretty high middle
TK/Brimble - Lion bat - just about perfect
GM Icon 606 - a real gem - tapping up pretty well so far
SAF Genus 100 - last years match bat and the season befores for that matter. looks new, but has a big crack in the toe

oh and the Icon is the lightest, the Genus is the heaviest

the new saf looks lovely buzz, as do all the other bats :)

A nice looking bunch of bats. The grip set up on them look like baby Vic had helped you ;) (apologies if I got his name wrong)

single double thickness chevron with a very thick half grip underneath (or two thinner grips)

With the ICON I picked up some GM grips to match the original one which was knackered and have cut one into two and put both halves underneath the normal grip.
Typically I trim the half grips to suit where my bottom hand and top hand is.
This set up weighs about 3-4oz depending on the grips in question so there is a balance to get the grips right without impacting the feel of the bat.

the reason I do this is to try to reduce the impact of my bottom hand - i.e. to help me play straighter

Thought I would add in an old favourite to the mix, I used this for the two seasons before I joined this forum... it is a Pakistan made masterpiece (in my view...) and the handle has lasted (somehow!!)

picks up like a dream, a little soft now though! and with it's replacement (also seen with the new revolution stickers on, above!) the original bat as £70 (cash) new... the replacement was not ;)

fair enough! i dunno why but on bats when they have them little lines in them inbetween the grains like u have in bottom right i love them lol

the candles are always out at castle buzz

but I will have to pay her credit card bill, which after Christmas is more than the value of my bat collection :o
