Title: Salix Rumours
Post by: tim2000s on December 28, 2011, 10:56:54 PM
There have been rumours bandied about that Salix are relying on Indian part mades and not making all their own bats. It would be great if one of the salix guys could let us know if there is any truth to these rumours.

My understanding has always been that all adult bats are UK made and that the kids bats are Indian made. I believe that this has become confused and that is how the rumours have started. It would be good to get Dan to confirm this just to shut the rumour down.

As you said rumors.

Have seen the bats being made and the way they are made. Maybe the jnr or kashmir bats come from India (like is the case with most brands)

I remember them saying at the trade show that the smaller bats were made in India as it made better sense! But Salix did say that the rest were uk made?
Yash did visit and saw them being made as I understand.

But when all is said and done, it would be good to hear it from Salix.

could just mean the rascal (junior) bats are made by SS, they are kashmir. If they were taking part mades from India, maybe for doing the handle and rough shaping is that a huge issue? Not like other manufacturers don't do it.

Softs come from SS. Bags from China.

Remember Salix do not make loads of bats as compared to Newbery, Kook, Puma etc. The demand for Salix bats outstrips the supply and hence Andrew has taken a couple of batmakers onboard.

I had the discussion with Dan just after he joined salix, senior bats are all fully made in the UK and to help meet demand some of the junior bats

it really frustrates me when unfounded rumours are circulated like this as they can hurt a brands reputation.

I heard a while ago that the junior bats were indian made, but as buzz said all adult bats are UK made.
