Hi fellas,
Weird story, the postie knocked on the door this morning and handed me a large box full of woodworking tools. Old ones! VERY old ones. The local wheelwrights has closed down and they were chucking out loads of tools so he picked up a box of them and gave them to me.
In the box I found 5 of these....

3 different sizes, the others are bigger than this one pictured. I am assuming that these are spoke shaves but I know nothing! My question is are these worth anything? They're in good nick but the blades would need sorting on them (if that's possible?) Also found a very heavy block plane (missing it's blade) that seems like a nice thing.
Have I been given a box of useless tat (as I suspect) or do these have any use/value? I want to double check before I chuck them!

old spokeshave....I have one similar that does a very good job taking off excess wood

Can they be 'refurbed'?
Actually, scrub that question.....I don't care! Are they worth anything? :D
Hmmmm.........having looked on eBay it would seem the answer is no.................more tat for the shed then.

Very easy to refurb the spokeshaves. Take the blade out by gently tapping the bits that stick out the back with a hammer. You can then sharpen the blade and sand the wood down and it will look like new again.
