Anyone know who makes the most bats in the world currently? Surely got to be one of the large companies like GM? SS or SG?

According to their website, SG.
-
SG are apparently making in excess of 350,000 bats a year.
-
SG:
We roll out around 1000-1200 bats in a day. We manufacture around 500-600 pads and almost 800-900 gloves in a day

are they handmade or part cnc'd etc? thats a hell of alot of bats in a day. then again their working day maybe alot longer than ours
-
people power will also factor into the volume of production, I believe GM said they produce around 50k a year from Notts.
In India its obviously considerably cheaper to hire someone to make them and pretty sure you wont have to worry about their PAYE/NI either ???

Part cnc'd.
They have one of the most advanced factories in India.
-
SS wouldn't be too far behind I would imagine.
SG with all their consignments for Kookaburra etc certainly would be churning out the bats.
The other question that begs to be asked is, with all those bats being made - the shipments of EW to India must be massive and on a daily basis virtually stripping Wright & Sons (and all other growers) bare.
The mind boggles at the quantities involved.
-
you would have to hope that some of that 1000 plus a day are KW and not all EW or we are going to be running out pretty quickly
-
canadian willow thats all am saying

canadian willow thats all am saying
Obsessed lol
-
i just cant belive that england can produce that much willow..
when trees take 10 years to grow
and they are making
1000-1200 bats in a day
-
either masses in stock or they are making a fair few out of KW.
what are you looking at cleft wise per tree? 20-30? so 40 trees a day at best. thats alot of trees.
-
about 30-35 clefts per English tree, no idea about the Kashmir willow trees.
-
i cant get my head around it lol
-
Shall we look at this question and answer a bit more...:
10. What is the capacity of the SG factory? How many bats/pads/gloves a day can you make?

- the question doesn't say how many English Willow bats are made - it includes tape bats, Kashmir bats, Eng willow bats and kids bats and... anything else - I think his answer could be being misinterpreted. The question is a very open one and the answer is hardly clear.

it would be interesting to find out how many clefts are used a year/ how many trees are cut down.
-
I'm sure we can ask and find out what percentages are KW and EW
-
TK must be turning out a fair few a day!!
-
not compared to 100k a year.... they are a much smaller set-up than GM let alone SG
