Title: Help Needed! Which Bat For My 30th??
Post by: 97 n.o. on January 24, 2012, 10:15:01 AM: Morning all, just wanting some input from the collective knowledge of this wonderful forum!

My dad has offered me a rather nice sum of money towards a 30th birthday bat, and i've managed to whittle it down to one of the above 8 bats.

Please pop a vote on for your top 3 out of these. If anyone can suggest something else that might be suitable that i've missed off, please let me know!

Amplus is the nice bat in theory but I can't see such a high middle necessary in this country.

Money-no-object option would be a Scat I suppose, but the grief (and lack of looking at the thing) of buying something so far away isn't something I'm in a hurry to do (again).

Post by: Buzz on January 24, 2012, 10:39:56 AM: If it were me, I would be going for a Charlie French bat shaped like a Screaming cat series 3... but that is just me, and I haven't asked if he would do that!!
I also have a soft spot for SAF bats - so Andy could do that shape too if you asked I am sure.

I would go for a Redback or Saf or H4L These are the ones I have liked when seen on the forum or used.

Post by: tim2000s on January 24, 2012, 01:38:28 PM: 30th Birthday Bat? I'd get something made up for me by a custom maker (probably Andy SAF, Rob Pack, Charlie French or James Laver) and I'd be getting my most prolific run scoring shape that i've ever used (so a Hunts County Insignia).

But that's just me!

Some excellent suggestions, thanks. The Scat has walked it but i'm still not sure about it- cost and distance seem to keep holding me back.

Have emailed to get a bit more info about the SAF Hades, not sure if they have any left! Other than that i think i might shoot for a custom made bat. Havent even looked a Laver yet!
