Hi guys can someone tell me what make this bat is? Doing a clean up for my mate and we don't know what make the bat is. it has two strange engravings on the back of the bat that had two orange stickers in it before. It has a Traditional English profile

Not sure this helps but it has written "select" on the binding
-
Hunts?
-
Gray Nics?
-
Hunts of some sort is my guess
-
Did the Gray Nics gladius have markings in the back?
I think it was gladius that was orange, I cant remember. Excuse the spelling too
-
Slazenger maybe?
-
An early Slaz V800 = they had a variety of strange grooves on their backs through their various incarnations?
Possibly a Warrior by Richard Wensley?
-
Just searched the Gray nicolls gladius and the slazenger v800 and their profiles don't match, Any chance for a picture of the Warrior Fattus?
-
How would these be replicated if you were making your own bat?
-
I have no idea mate, I think it must have been done with a special tool.
-
Kook Ridgeback?
-
Profile looks similar to the Ridgeback but there is no engravings sadly

Can't recal warrior doing this shape...looks like a GN but think that was stickers and now actuall cut outs
-
Hunts County Reflex that someone has made their own scoops in, judging by the inconsistent shape and poor finishing on the scoops would be my guess.
-
yeah dont think its a warrior they never do scoops like that,
but could possibly be a slazenger as it says Select! and they have a select model
-
tims that is a good match with the profiles but the bat is oldish and I think it was made before the hunts reflex was brought out. The scoops looked well finished until I thought a spokeshave could shave them of! (still learning!)
-
That's it-- it is the Scot Robertson brand!!
-
Simmy do you have a photo of the slazenger select I could compare the bat with?

how old as reflex was 10-15 years ago

Reflex is 20 odd years old in that shape with the duck bill toe.
-
thought I was a bit conservative.
Shape to me more like the insignia if a hunts
-
Ah then It might be a reflex. I looked at hunts range and thought it was new. So I think you right mate! but those engravings are bugging me have they been done by the bats manufacturer or by the person who bought the bat. Has the stickers ever been orange? as there were orange stickers inside the engravings when I got given it

The insignia had more of a hump....
-
reflex had no scoops though.
If slazenger think it was V800 that had contoured back.

If it is a hunts then they are user made. To be honest I don't remember any bat with scoops quite like that

Ah yes - I've got one in my shed. Knew it was familiar...
-
Now there's one that passed me by...
-
Me too, however think the early V600 didnt have these contours.
-
Thought it was a slazenger

Yes. I remember the original v600 rather than this one...
