This year will see CustomBats celebrate its fourth birthday. During that time we have had changes in owner, changes in admin team, sponsors have come and gone and of course our membership has continued to grow and change.
Keen to make sure we carry on getting better as a forum, the current admin team have decided that we are due a face lift.
Here's where you can get involved!
We'd like one of our members to design a new CustomBats logo. Whoever creates the winning design will win a personalised item of CustomBats Wear (e.g. hoodie, polo shirt etc) featuring the new logo and with the winners initials/name and have the pride of having the whole forum designed around their idea every time they login.
Guidelines
1) The logo must contain the URL CustomBats.co.uk
2) Any colours can be used - don't feel you're stuck using the current Red/Black colour scheme.
3) Think about how the logo will be used - both as part of the forum header, as part of the CustomBats.co.uk home page and also to be used on other branded items such as clothing, which we will be selling in the near future
Rules
1) Entries to be sent via email to: competitions@custombats.co.uk
Make sure you include your forum username with the entry so we know who it's from. Entries posted publicly on the forum will automatically be void.
2) Designs MUST be your own work - no reproduction of copyright images.
3) You can enter as many times as you like, but remember it's about QUALITY NOT QUANTITY
4) Entries must be received by 9am UK Time on Monday 27th February.
Once the deadline has passed the admin team will compile a shortlist of their favourite designs, and then we will create a poll so that members can vote to decide the final winner.
Good Luck!

Who's the target market for it? Is there a tagline? What message is it to convey?
-
Target market is anyone who loves cricket, especially the world of custom bat making and cricket equipment - no tag line currently, but we are happy for you to come up with one.
As for messages - none per say - we are a friendly place with a load of very knowledgeable members we want to keep that, but we are looking at ways of keeping the forum fresh.
-
just to add to this, if you are searching for ideas, look at different smf themes as possible different colours/formats for the forum.
if you find one you like, please include it with your design (don't feel this is compulsory)
-
ill give it a bash i guess
-
just thought I would give this a quiet Sunday afternoon nudge!
I hope you have some good ideas coming our way :D
-
I'm a little disappointed this isn't being run through the thread, letting members comment and maybe vote would make this exciting. At the minute this thread lacks anything, I would have designed if I could show it off and maybe win.
At the minute, it could be a waste of time and IMO the prize isn't great....
-
if you read the opening thread we will show the entries once they are all in. this way we don't have arguments about stealing ideas.
having the forum designed around your idea is a decent prize.
oh and everyone will be able to vote on the idea, as it says in the opening post...
-
A short list it says...what if mine doesn't get that far?
-
We were also trying to have a deliberate level of anonymity, the idea being that the winning design would be picked on it's strength as a design as opposed to the popularity of the member who designs it.
If course the eventual winner would be made public

A short list it says...what if mine doesn't get that far?
you need to have more faith in your design abilities...
-
Thought I would give this a friday afternoon bump...
The entries have begun to trickle in - by no means a flood yet - ladies and gentlemen get your ideas or designs in!
-
ill do one 2night
-
Buzz, this is being run completely wrong which is why I'm not entering and it seems others...
Just look how many people attempted to design a cricket bat to win a fusion a few years back...
-
I am sorry you think that.
we aren't going to change now as we have had some good and usable suggestions.
we also don't need to do anything, we are looking for members ideas and views.
no one else has an issue.
-
i cant see the problem with it?
its not like its a brand or anything that would be making money from?
they just want a new logo?
and are open to ideas as we use the forum i think its nice that they have asked us to help out
-
Never mind.
They do, but they would of gone a lot more entries if they run it through the forum.
-
we don't agree we also want the best idea to win, not the most popular designer, so it has to be done anonymously.
-
Just over a week left! Some good ideas so far, but would be good to see a few more.
Would personally feel very proud if every time I logged in I was greeted with an image designed by me
-
Last weekend coming up guys - Friday afternoon is always a good day to get designing... :D
good luck
-
Just seen this thread and Gareth's comments, I do agree. To get a stronger logo (and to get more entries!) it is best to post the entrants onto the forum straight away, for feedback and improvements.
The prize isn't that great that I'd get upset if someone improved my design and the competitive nature is that if someone improves your version, then you go improve that version even further.
See 99Designs for examples. http://99designs.com/logo-design/contests/logo-wanted-living-lens-www-tv-121909
Perhaps it's too late for my 1 pence, but should you crowdsource in the future it's worth bearing in mind.
-
Looking forward to seeing the shortlist today!
-
Can we see the shortlist?
-
Easy fellas! Give us chance! We have to sort through ALL the entries first :D
