Title: Pietersen and Bell
Post by: adam1312 on February 14, 2012, 01:28:13 PM
Why do they wear sweatbands when batting?
Does it look poser-ish or make me look arrogant if I wore one when batting in matches or nets?

It's all down to personal preference what you wear when your batting. I don't think it makes you look any different/better, well it certainly hasn't worked for KP and IB if there are any benefits from it of late!

I think KP's was to do with his tattoo on his forearem, His sponsors at the time (Redbull?) Did'nt like it and insisted on covering it whilst he was batting.
(This was from the rumour mill and may not be 100% accurate)

If it serves a purpose ie. to wipe sweat off your brow then why not? Loads of people wear things to emulate their Hero's, if you wear two tho you'll look a bit 118 118 :)

as hard as it is to wipe your brow with a lid still on, it does also stop sweat running into your gloves which i find of much more benefit in this heat and humidity

I don't think it looks poserish mate. I wore one once for a school match for no reason and wear one every time I bat now, be it nets or in a match.
