Title: Which kit bag
Post by: yvk3103 on February 17, 2012, 02:50:54 PM
Hi!

I am looking to buy a kit bag and would appreciate your thoughts on which are the best ones to carry the following kit:

3X bats
2X batting gloves
1X batting pads
1X helmet
1X thigh pad
2X shoes
2X pairs of whites (2 trousers and 2 shirts)
1X personal kit (toiletries, sweat bands, jocks, skins and socks)
1X medical kit
8-10 cricket balls
4X 0.5l bottles of energy drinks.

I have used a Aero stand-up in the past but it is a nightmare fitting it in the boot of a 5 series saloon.

Also used a Salix, pod 1 and pro, but not too impressed with them (especially the pod as it is quite a job to put the bats in the external pocket if the internal pockets are full).

Not fussed whether it is a stand-up or not.

Just want something that looks good, easy to transport and carry, padded bat pockets(not necessary though) and is very organized :)

Thank you all for your suggestions and time.

M&H Double Decker or similar. Double decker bags are huge, I think Newbery do one as well.

CD trying to catch-up with your collection :)

CD married people always need the box to be in the right place 24X7, especially when they start to spend more on cricket kit than on the lady :)
The box can be squeezed in anywhere. You realize the value of the box and helmet only when you get knocked, thankfully I have never been knocked low down yet :)

The problem with the double deckers is that the zippers get damaged very fast if the lower compartment is not full. Has a Slaz one and the zipper came off twice as the lower compartment was not very full and the top part was putting pressure on the sippers while opening and closing.

The m@h leather bag is tiny, you have no chance fitting all that gear inside it

I would suggest the Gary nics pro performance, top top bag

I also love the look of the tour :)

Talk to Jonnyw, his Shamrock bag (I think you can find pics in the Shamrock section) would probably fit the bill nicely. It's good value as well. £50 I think??? Not sure if he has stock yet but I've got my name down for one....
