Title: For Sale - Performance Training Bat
Post by: Bulldog Cricket on February 17, 2012, 03:21:37 PM
Afternoon all,

I had one of these made for Tim a month or so ago and once everyone looked at it I had a deluge of inquiries and sales. Anyway out of the batch we had we have a couple left that I am now offering for sale here.

I have said in the title that this is a performance training bat, and before anyone jumps on that, all I'm trying to say is that these bats will perform the same as any top match bat out there. They are made from oversize clefts in order that the weight can be kept even with the narrow blade.

Personally i do not see the point in using an inferior quality training bat. You need something that feels and performs like your match bat so that training is as close to the real thing as possible.

Hope that makes sense.

Anyway, both bats are 80mm wide (just over 3 inch) and have 50mm edges. They knock up superbly well.
Bat 1 on the left is 2lb 9oz

Bat 2 on the right is 2lb 7oz

£100 each inc delivery.

100 is a lot of money for a cut down grade 3/4 bat isn't it, or am i missing something here.

I do appreciate that making these will incur pretty much the same costs as making a regular sized bat, but it's a lot of money for a training aid.

I'm considering using mine in a T20, as it's actually as good as others I have, if a bit narrow. Definitely not G3/4...

I was only going on the ones above having wavy grains, knots and heartwood.
