Title: I tried the search function...
Post by: Colesy on February 18, 2012, 06:30:36 PM
Just wondering what people think about the twine/string around the toe repair?

I'd done it to my bat today as I got a crack in it from nets last week and, I'm quite pleased with it. I've applied what glue I have which is wood PVA, wondering if this would be up to the test?

Here's what I mean about the concept

Obviously Afridi has it done but is it still ok to do it? I'm presuming there are guidelines to state thickness etc?

We used to do that in India using badminton racket strings. The strength of the repair depended on the first knot and the hardest bit to get right. Its very durable. I thought it was against rules considering they can scuff the ball.
