Richard Levi just hit the quickest T20 ton and hit 12 6s to get him there. Small boundries but still a great knock. Great to watch :D
-
I saw that too, looks like he killed it. Hit 13 sixes though, lol :D
-
Let's hope he can kick on and secure a place in the sa team. Its time SA started to replace some of the old gaurd.

Nearly killed a few of the spectators :)

how many balls?

how many balls?
His hundred came in 45 balls. He finished on 117* off 51 with five 4's and thirteen 6's.
-
Just seen a few highlights on youtube and he hit the ball very well.No a big ground but it was still a great knock.

Great knock from Levi but most of them 6s would have been 4s on most grounds.
-
Played perfectly given the conditions. Marked out which boundaries to target then biff baff boff!
-
Next game I think the kiwi bowlers will be looking to keep him playing on the off side as he did not look to clever on the off.

You say that, but he fetched some balls from outside off and club them over the leg side for a six! With pure ease too!

brilliant as it is to watch it does beg the question about whether boundaries should be a minimum distance and whether bat weights ought to be restricted. The amount of wood on a pro's bat, even at relatively modest weights, does give them a huge advantage when targetting a 60m boundary.
-
Always the same for both teams though

There are minimum boundary requirements though...

which are pathetic using today's bats. Even Atherton has commented on how much bigger bats are compared to when he played.

But Athers used a powerspot, which everyone knows had no middle!
-
I have to agree that the rope was about 10-15 meters to close to the pitch but then again its the same for both teams and thats really what matters..
-
They didnt look ridiculously small in distance 70m sides. But could altitude have had something to do with how far it was travelling easily?
-
Isn't there literally no proof that altitude at least at this height we are talking makes a difference and rather just an urban myth? Although there must be something to it as almost everyone thinks it, or is it now a placebo?
-
Whether the boundaries were shorter or not, that is a fantastic knock!!
-
Dont know if altitude makes a difference, but the tv graphics said the boundaries were 70m at the sides and that doesnt seem that small to me.
-
Definitely not small at all then lol! Someone said earlier the ropes were brought in a little I think, or I'm imagining it lol!

pretty small ground tho
-
Quite small ground. Top edge went for six too!
-
The ropes were taken in a little - but only 2 or 3 meters I believe due to health and safety! :(
And yet you look as older matches and the spectators are sitting on the boundary rope!! ;)
I guess they mean health and safety for the fielders when they slide to stop a boundary - and they'd end up sliding into spectators or the boarding if the ropes remained where they were!!!!!
But as was said, 70m boundary is still more than enough I reckon! A miss-hit would result in a catch, so he still had to hit them well!
The funny thing about that innings is that you see them happen a lot in T20 matches, but the batsman normally holes out after 30 or 40 runs! But he kept on going and was just one of those when he seemed to be seeing it like a beachball! I prefer test matches, but I got to admit that it was fantastic viewing unless you're a Kiwi!
Richard Levi.....coming to an IPL near you soon! ;)
