I have a rather lovely bat that's has a great, consistent powerful face on it, at my perfect weight (2'11), though the pick up of it makes me cry.
I put this down largely to the fact it's the bad combination of a low bulbous middle like a H4L 666 Monster (not that I'm saying the 666 Monster picks up badly!).
Would I be right in assuming the best way to improve the pick up would be to take the bulge off the peak of the spine and therefore move the center of mass up the bat? If I turned it into a 'tour' shape, or a GT335 with thick edges, I'd have a light bat, with a powerful face, who's pick up is only slightly crap.
What's the worst that can happen?!

No, you need to take the weight out of the toe to make it pick up better and more balanced.

Take a load off the toe, I wouldn't touch the spine too much

No need to touch the spine at all.

Or sell it and buy lots more bats,,one of them gotta be decent :)..or if you can take it to a batmaker they might able to do something for you...

The rebound off it is too good to let go, or else I would!
Here's a pic of the profile...(bat has only minor concaving). I was considering making the alterations as per the red line in the second pic. (the red line near the handle end is only an option, it's the carving at the foot end that will be done to raise the centre of mass)

If you change it that much you could find the bat loses alot of its rebound. I would remove a little from the toe and maybe slightly concave that area. If you start to change the profile that much it could ruin it

I would agree with Johners here, a little bit of concaving in the toe should help. Bottom 4-6 inches concaved a little bit at time, check pick-up and readjust/remove more if need be but go little by little.

Have you tried extra grip or weight ?
