It's that time of year again! Targets for 2012 everyone?
Mine are to-
- Cement my place opening the batting in the 1st XI
- Score 400 runs in the league
- Hit at least one ton for the 1st XI
- Help the team get promoted!
Post your targets here...
-
My Targets are:-
1. Hit my first ton. I have improved a lot in the last year and worked hard thru the winter. I think that it's an achievable task.
2. End the season with a good average.
3. Captain the side to finish in the top 4 in Dorset Sunday Div 1
-
pretty much same as yours mate lol
i want over 400 league runs only managed 380 leagueruns total of 500ish but got 2 70's in cup games.
i want a ton this year as i didnt get one last year.
and i wouldnt mind batting top 4 allthough i no it wont happen lol
id like 40 victims this year behind the stumps
-
This will be my first year playing weekend cricket since 99 so I'm really hoping extra practice will help. I'd love to:
Score a few 50's and maybe even a century (with a lot of luck)
Aiming to score at least 250 runs at weekend
I'd also really like to get my bowling action back and bowl a bit as thats what I used to do when I was younger. In nets I've now resorted to bowling off 5 paces as I find I have much more control and accuracy so just hoping I can have a bit of a bowl at weekends.
-
Win the league and have a fantastic knees up after every game in our newly refurbed Pavilion! Anything else is a bonus :D

Last season I scored 389 runs at an average of 35, top score 104. This put me 6th on the league list.
I managed 6 catches, 3 stumpings and a run out; making me the 4th best wk in the league.
This season I aim to break 400 runs, which would put me in the top 3 batsmen in the league. I hope to increase the number of 30s that I convert into 50s, and it would be nice to notch another ton.
I also aim to take 15 league dismissals (which will be very tough considering my team's attack!).
I am also the captain of our Sunday team so I hope to take a few wickets with my medium pace and will enjoy bringing the young players through.
-
I did think that - apparently my dad used to be quite sharp when he was younger but I only ever remember him bowling off a few paces.
I reckon I'm a long way off what he was like though, think I read somewhere he had something like 800 odd northern league first team wickets - and he only stepped down to the 2nd team to play in the same team as me.
-
Couple aims for the season are;
- cement my spot in the middle order for Dorchester in the Prem League
- take the Dorchester Under 18's to title success as I did last season
- finish the season with fairly good stats with bat and ball
- wouldn't mind notching up a couple of half centuries in the first team too
Bring it on!
-
Raise two teams every weekend and a midweek one too.
-
score 3 50s and 2 5 wicket hauls and not drop a catch
-
Actually be half fit and play a whole season and not get any new injuries
-
Score a 50 or two
take a 5er
Take 25 wickets in all forms of cricket
Have 200 runs in all forms of cricket
-
At least 2 fifties
Hopefully a ton
And some reasonable bowling figures
-
Score my first ton
As my first season captaining the 1st team I just want to keep the team up this year. Last 2 years we have been relegated but stayed up by default
-
Nail down a permanent spot in the 1st team. Score 450 runs and not get fired as 1st team coach.
-
Hit at least one ton and few fifties. Bag 5 wickets in a game and overall have a great season. Finally finish with a good batting and bowling average.
-
500 plus runs in the league
Average 30+ (did do until the last 4 or 5 games)
Score my 1st ton for the 1st team, always seem to get a noise bleed at 75 lol
-
Bloody no idea. Not cock it up too much? Take lots of wickets, take catches, save runs in the field, and maybe even score some runs. Perform for my new club. Perform against my old club. Be a valued part of the team!
-
I really want to score back to back hundreds. :)
-
Not sure how much I will be able to play this year due to stupid A-levels and finding a job before uni but I really want to average at least 20 and build more on the starts I get, also not miss more than 3 chances behind the stumps
-
Having walked past my cricket club earlier and getting a first sight of our new wickets properly, I said that one aim is to hit a 6 over cover now the boundaries are small enough!
1000 runs in all
30 wickets in all
At least 1 100
350 league runs which will be difficult as it looks like it will be my first season opening for the 1s.
-
500 league runs again would be nice but having gone up a division I'd expect a better standard of fielding and bowling
-
Just one for me; to start enjoying cricket again
-
1 x 100 and a hatrick in the 50 over format
2 x 50 and a bowling avg of 3 runs an over it the T20 and a hatrick
-
WIN - end of story.
-

You captaining Bridport on saturdays mate?
Good luck! :)
-
For me I have a couple of personal goals
* score my first ever league 50
And
* score my first ever hundred in any form of cricket
71no is my highest and I'm determined to beat that this season!!
-
To score 754 runs this season to achieve 10,000 career runs and take 27 wickets for a round 500 career wickets.
Fingers crossed and hopefully completed in 25 years and just over 430 matches. Not bad for a 48 year old!
-
To take 25+ wickets
To score 300 runs
-
1. Have fun
2. Not eat too much tea
3. Not get relegated...again
4. 300 1st team runs
5. Not dropping any chances (the one from last year still haunts me!)
-
Stay Fit
Bowl and Bat as many overs as I can.
Enjoy it and drink plenty after the games

Surprisingly not by much mate I wouldn't have said. there's less bad players in each team but there aren't better players really (bar the odd overseas)
-
After last season,
1 Win a game - at least one will do
2 Win the 2nd XI batting Average
3 Bowl in one game - Not being greedy
4 Get a few 50's in the bag
Hurmm
-
This season I ahould be playing at higher levels both on Saturday and Sundays. So if anything I need to be more circumspect with my targets.
I will be happy with 1000 runs for the season, and maybe 15 wickets. I want to play in, and maintain a spot in the 1st XI on Saturdays, and not get relegated on Sundays.
-
Standard:
500 runs
No ducks
No dropped catches
Then either win 1st XI place back, or establish myself as regular bowler in 2nd XI (20+ wickets)
-
2nd season after 12 year break so here we go;
1) Get comfortable with my batting - I'm thinking about it too much and getting too much advice!!! >:(
2) Cement my place in the 5 XI middle order
3) Not drop a catch
4) Finish with an average of 20
5) Get tanned before my wedding in October :D

We're aiming for 6 Saturday sides this year 5, league and 1 friendly, plus 2 Sunday friendly sides, I suppose it's one of the benefits of having a brilliant colts set up and being in an area with a high Asian population

Cheers mate, I'm surprised the other half has let me buy new kit for the season, but who I am I to complain!
-
seeing as im in australia and my seasons just finished i think i did ok , i made 208 in 17 innings (i know you think pretty bad) but im only a junior so i think i did better than other years, playing seniors was also pretty good :P
