Title: Package Bundle
Post by: Ayrtek Cricket on March 04, 2012, 09:29:45 PM
Looking for some feedback on what kind of price people would be willing to pay for a kit package to pimp themselves out from top to toe.

Would include the below kit....

Helmet
Pads
Gloves
Bat
Bag-perhaps a different price for stand-up/duffle

Also would people buy a matching lot of kit in order to have it all tie in or do you shop specifically for specialist items for each product..l.e. bat specialist, softs specialist, lid specialist?

duffle £20-25.
gloves £40x2
pads £50
lid £80
bat £100- £175
thigh pads £30

humm cricket is expensive.

typically I go for matching kit, but with a bat with my comedy stickers.

Yeah just chatting to a lad on twitter who bought up the fact about wk kit as well which makes it stack up pretty quickly!!

Personally think it's a very good idea for those who are looking to have all of the same kit which we have seen posted on here recently!

Possibly different package prices, one with a elite lid and stand up bag or duffle options and then one with premier lids and duffle or stand up option possibly?

Could offer different prices for the elite and premier options...would have to look into different options to bring a bat in at £175-180 though which would be in the Premier bundle.

Sounds like a good idea, if people for instance were looking for just pads gloves and a bat, and then see the package option for the helmet and bag, they might think it would be good to have complete matching kit for a little extra

I normally purchase gear when it's necessary (or when I want it) but I can't afford it all at the same time. I would prefer to have matching kit although it isn't essential.

I'm not too bothered about matching kit (though I do like to be colour co-ordinated) - however, for me kit bundles appeal when I feel like I'm getting good value for money.

How about this for a promotion: Get a free Ayrtek helmet!

...stick with me here. Say if someone buys bat, pads and gloves at full RRP £370, they get a free premier helmet?

In fact, surely you're not far from that price anyway with your existing offer: http://custombats.co.uk/cbforum/index.php?topic=14092.0;wap2

The 'free' helmet just puts a different spin on it

By the way, for the record I'm in the same boat as colesy at the moment, can only afford one bit of kit at a time :(

In terms of matching gear, I'm not that fussed. I usually find the pads I like the best, this is kookaburra at the moment, as all the kook pads are the same I choose the ones with the nicest colour trim and then choose gloves that tie in with those colours.

I reckon kit deals are a good thing to have in place to encourage them to buy the whole lot

before you all start jumping on me for the amount of kit i have, when i was a kid i would have loved to have had all matching gear and to look like a pro.  Obviously back then availability through cricket shops, lack of sizes and having to plead with mum for new kit left me with odds and sods of a kit bag.  As i started working i still couldn't afford the gear i really wanted and internet shopping was still a thing of the future and apart from ordering from catalogues like bourne sports, the only shops i had really near by me were Evans sports in Purley or Fordham sports or my spring jaunt down to Robertsbridge to hand pick a bat or two from Tim.  I think it would be fantastic if you can offer some sort of bundled package, or different levels.  The idea of offering a "free" lid will surely appeal to parents who are having their arms twisted for kit - what a free award winning helmet for little Johnny? seriously son have you thought about Ayrtek instead of that poncy Kookaburra / GM / Slazenger stuff .  But you'll still going to run up against the fact that a whole kitbag is a bloody expensive thing, especially if you're a keeper as well, unless you can offer some sort of interest free discount that's going to allow people more flexibility.  That i'm not sure you could / would want to do.  Another though maybe is to maybe to put all your ranges in the same colourscheme so that people can upgrade as they can afford it, without looking like they have different gear (101,202,303,upto LE, is all the same colour in that range or GM gear) maybe offer some sort of upgrade trade-in as a loyalty bonus so that after a season people can trade in their premier stuff at a more heavily discounted rate for elite gear, within 2 or 3 seasons people would have a complete kitbag of Ayrtek, sorry started rambling , i'll get my coat ...

I think bundles are a good idea. There are lots of people who buy whole sets of kit and if you get something free it is great.

Would an offer to save a certain percentage when you hit a total amount be better. Just thinking if you did say 10% off over £400 or something like that then give examples of the kit that could buy it may be better.

It would give people more flexibility to buy what they wanted, would hopefully increase your sales and might even be easier to apply on your website.

Nice one..Tom are you adding any helmets to the bundle as well?

Difficult to add a helmet to it without stepping on the toes of the retailers selling them as it will look like we are discounting the helmet which is something we wont be doing ???

That makes sense mate...Are you planning to roll out your bats and softs to retailers as well at some stage?

Will upload some pictures of our Premier bundle On Monday, we don't have a bat that slots into this range but it's something we're looking at introducing to sit into the £175 price bracket :)
