That has to be the smallest plane in the world :P
Looks like one hell of a set up ! looks like the new Norbs !
-
I have a smaller one it's about 1.5cm wide by about 3-4 long. Use it to fine tune the concaving. Really good. Takes some time but good control.
-
ohhh fletcher will be envious of that bandsaw mate lol
-
ill be honest its going back. only got it yesterday but its faulty. i have ordered another one from somewhere else. get him to pm me and ill give him the details . quite cheap in bandsaw terms but still pretty expensive.
-
pm'd lol
-
ps. looks like you've done a lovely job on that bat!
-
thanks mate, just finishing it off tonight hopefully. needs a few final adjustments as its about an oz heavier than i want it. thats if i can adjust it without ruining the shape/ balance. bit of sanding, binding and polishing and we are away. pming you back as we speak
-
what bench sander is that? Have been looking for one for ages now!!!
-
You mean the drum sander?
-
You mean the drum sander?
Could you pm me details of where you got the sander and buffer please mate of you don't mind ?
-
just looks like a motor with a sanding drum on then a buffer wheel on

it is simmy,
motor with a drill chuck spindle in. then just change the sanding drum and the polishing wheel depending what i need at the time. saves alot of space and works a treat
-
Anoter question about your sander, how would you go about setting that up? I want to start refurbing my bats FOC, and doing it by hand is quite frankly a ball ache
-
i get a fair few questions about my set up so i just thought id update this topic to see how far its come since its start. Plenty of new additions to the workshop. the workshop could do with a bit of a tidy but its not too bad. enjoy!

Maybe because it's 2 mops ;)
HS Walsh do them up to 64mm wide.

I'll drop you a pm with the details. It's actually just one mop think it's 8x4in

Yeah it's in my garage at home. Nice and convenient for bat making and means I can spend an hour or so in there whenever I want. Dream is to have a big workshop where I can spend all day but at the mo this does me fine.

Blimey, that a fatty :o Never realised they came that size, mind you there's no need in the jewellery trade. Half to 2 inch is normally enough width.
-
Nice set up and good to see inside the bat makers workshop. The bats you make reflect the set up .

I think 4in is the widest I've found. Sure u could get bigger mops if you were looking in the right place

Thanks mate. Spent a fair bit on it. It's by no means a professional set up like some of the big boys but I've made it work in the space I have.

My red ink is superb, the finish is excellent and the customer service was and is second to none :)
