I've been asked by one of the lads i know to make one of his old SH bats in to a Junior bat for a young lad he's coaching. The toe was cracked and it was in a sorry state. Anyway, after a few hours cutting the blade to the right size and sanding etc he's the result.
went with a square toe like on the GN pro bats. seemed like a good idea at the time. anyway here's the pics...
weight is 2.5oz

Looks tidy, Fletch :)

cheers mate, think he will be happy and so he should be. I'd be well chuffed with a free bat when i was a youth! its got about 11 grains too lol
-
Did you do anything to the width?
-
just planed the edges a little to square them back up. Think size 6 are the same width as a harrow and adult bat. its just the length that changes to 81cm (going from memory so could be wrong)
-
think they are thinner mate, harrows are thinner than sh...

Looks good. Is the weight ok for size 6? Seems heavy for someone small. Handle need adjusting?
-
couldnt find anywhere on the net for sizes except for blade length. i've told him to try it and see what he thinks. The lad wanted it as heavy as possible so thats what hes got lol.
-
think the blade width ended up being about 4" after the edges were squared off. so its not as wide as an adults blade.
