this is the 14 man squad for the odi series
England one-day squad Paul Collingwood (capt), Tim Ambrose, James Anderson, Ian Bell, Ravi Bopara, Stuart Broad, Alastair Cook, Dimitri Mascarenhas, Kevin Pietersen, Owais Shah, Ryan Sidebottom, Graeme Swann, Chris Tremlett, Luke Wright.
what do you think? i think its harsh on mustard he didnt do anything wrong he looked promiing with the bat and i think this is sending the wrong message fromm the selectors

I presume then that Wright is to open with Cook and have Ambrose coming down at 7 to finish. 8)

Not impressed by it at all. No real threat in there I feel.
-
i think ravi bopara and dimi mascheranas are good pics ! :)

So only changes from the NZ squad are Ambrose for Mustard and the dropping of Tredwell? Imaginative...
-
No way should they have left Mustard out IMO, he's much better at ODI's.

We'll have to wait and see how ambrose does. I would have bell open bopara 3, Pietersen 4 collingwood 5, Mascarenhas/wright, Ambrose, Swann, Sidebottom, Anderson,Tremmlet. If they dont want bell opening you can always use swann who does it pretty well for nottinghamshire. I think it was right not to pick monty as i feel he bowls to flat in odi's.
-
but i do think its important monty gets some odis or just 50 over matches in general under his belt with the world cup in asia iirc monty could have a big part to play

Ali Cook isn't the best call in my opinion...

Give Cook time he is a run scorer and he did allright last year.
