Title: Bat Polishing!
Post by: SillyShilly on March 31, 2009, 12:42:49 PM
Hi Guys,
After watching the batmaking video posted earlier it got me thinking about the finishing processes of the bat. Am i right in guessing that most bats are burnished or boned to give the polished and smooth finish? I was wondering are there any other alternatives, as i often do refurbs for my team-mates, and i would love to get a similar finish without having to get hold of these bits of equipment - any advice would be much welcomed!

Salix bat wax may be worth a try. I haven't used it mind so not a clue how good it is.

It's crap. It's glorified linseed oil and i was stupid enough to buy it.

i agree. It is being promoted as an alternative to linseed oil. But it is much more convenient to use and does not discolor the bat like lindseed oil.

It is a mixture of Lindseed oil and bees wax
