Think it's imprinted/branded :D
-
Branding iron. Has been burnt on.
-
Yep looks very nice 8)
-
Those branding irons cost loads don't they? Looks good btw.
-
Youre right Joe. They ain't cheap, but the bats are quality too.
-
Bad point is, the house smells of burning wood.
-
Sand down the bottom one to tidy it up as the iron got too hot on that one hence why it's burnt and spread a little
-
Cheers Tom, I think with a bit of practice I'll have it sorted.
-
Yeah the phrase "strike whilst the iron is hot" rings true....you just need to get a balance of hot and too hot!
-
Looks much better on the thicker edges bats, think you might need an alternative for the thinner ones though.
-
Looks good guys, very impressed :D

Tom do you touch the iron to check how hot it is?
-
Don't put your finger on it Canners in case it's hot, use your tongue as it is wet and thus cool...
-
am i the only person who really doesn't like edge branding? :o
-
Yup
-
I'm with you there Buzz. There's just something about them I don't like.
-
looks good
-
I love edge branding, but dislike the 'overburn' which ruins it.
It's a bit like the effect loose bowels have on your u-bend - if you're not in control, frankly it ends up a mess!
-
the problem with this, especially is that you will be churped in the field for being forever stuck on "99" - which some people will say that the will take that - but personally I just don't think "99" is enough. Like Cattus with cake...
These bats are absolutely quality sticks, I know the care that has gone into choosing the right shape and the right weights and from the ones that I have seen with Canners they have been sensational - I mean seriously well made bats - but if you are going to call yourself blank bats - please take a leaf out of the Ronseal world
!!

No I stamp it onto the work bench to make sure it's hot enough before doing it on the bat mate...either that or get an old bat and use that to make sure it's good and ready

About the most useful thing I learnt from a 4 year chemistry degree was that you can use the fleshy part of your hand just between thumb and wrist to touch against stuff briefly to see how hot it is before burning yourself.
Dunno how well it would work on a brand of course but works well with pans, etc.

Have you been on the Claret again? That's rubbish spelling that is!
-
Grumps is at it again
-
Missus Fattus has me on a diet - all is not well!!
Perhaps I should have edge-branding that says 'nil by mouth'
-
It's hard to find an edge on a sphere!! ;) think I'm going on a thin down after this weekends stag do

It is apparently in an effort to:
a) Increase my already staggering sexual performance
b) To decrease my impressive level of flatulence in the marital bed. Apparently 'squeezing out a cracker' whilst she's reading Marie Claire is not the done thing. :(

I'm now picturing a bat with 100s of Ayrtek brands all over it.
-
Correct lol

I too am staggered that you consider sexual performance...
