Hey guys,
What do you look for when yo are buying a grip and also what do you want to see in a new grip on the market?
Cheers,
Nick
-
Come on guys, surely you have something to share!
-
A thick spiral will do me just nicely
-
So nothing you would add?
-
Bright colours
-
As long as it isn't an octopus grip, I don't mind
-
Must be white in colour for me
-
So nothing you would add?
not really, prefer the feel rather than colour etc.
unless you can make a white spiral that stays white, now I'd buy those bad boys :D
-
Single Chevron is my choice, Colour doesnt bother me, I prefer plain style or half and half colour types.
-
So, White in color and thick chevron/spiral.
-
Single chevron on a nice oval handle. White grips so they don't stain my gloves :) unless there's some crazy colour combinations on offer then my idiot side can take over. Would love some kind of wacky chevron design grip, like a rainbow or paint splatter etc
-
i want a bulldog style grip that doesnt go saggy and poo poo

yeah they are a nice combo but always get saggy for some reason :(
-

The old style Puma grips were always quite cool but they were too thin! So a grip that doesn't rip (if that is ever possible)

What grips are they? And how do you mean saggy?
-
its the half chev and half spiral ones. they just seem to loose the elasticity
-
Really ? I am supprised as they are uk made. Send one back to me and I will send it back to the supplier and get some feedback.
Cheers

For me the grip has to be well made, this means 100% latex rather than the cheaper imported grips, the benefits are a lighter grip, it wears better and it gives more feel. Style is down to personal choice, I choose the Spiral grips as they offer me more grip on the handle.
-
Colour that doesn't come off on your gloves (hence I always choose white)
A material that isn't too abrasive on soft glove palms.
-
I am currently mucking around with grips on my talisman, I used 1 chevron with a half grip underneath on Wednesday and it hurt the hands when striking the ball. I am playing around with numerous chevrons, spirals, and those half and half grips from Kieron

Found these half spirals. Has anyone used them ?
-
I prefer grips that do not slip in my hand, octopus seems to the best for this but does cause more wear and tear to the palms of your gloves.
I have a Kookaburra blade runner a few years ago and it had the worst grip ever, looked great but the bat kept moving in my hand. I dont used spirals as in my head i can see the handle turning in my hands...
Should add color doesnt matter to me, if it looks great then its an added bonus but not the primary function of the grip....Puma ones feel decent too...
-
These are my favourite type of grips

Think I've found a winner on the Talisman, a single spiral, feels good in the hands, let's just hope it feel good with a ball off it!
I have a half chevron and a half shock absorber under a chevron on the ayrtek which feel very nice
-
Chevron, preferable double thickness and more importantly hasn't to be black (a big no to yellow and white )
-
Hey guys,
I'm currently working with a designer to come up with something. Hold tight!
Nick
-
im not really fussed about grips i just get whatevers on the shelf
-
Puma grips are the best for me as they stay grippy for ages! I have a Puma Atomic and the grip on it is grippier than many new bats I have got.
-
Thanks for the input guys! Where do you stand on those GM Shock absorba grips? Anyone used one?

I used one. Well used is an overstatement. It split in half trying to put it on!
Just ordered myself a couple of GN White/Black/White ones.
-
Hmm thats odd. Are they thin?

I've used them and like them alot, always got a couple in my bag
-
Used them a lot.
Going back to them now after getting annoyed with snake gripps splitting all the time.
-
What do I want in a grip?
For it to be flat and grippy. Prefer chevrons or diamond grips, colour isn't massively important but has to go well with my kit.
