A possibility of RP back at the county ground?
http://www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2012/content/current/story/558058.html
I love being a Somerset supporter, I think we get all the best overseas, with Jayasuriya, Langer, Smith, Ponting, Pollard...... but what do you gents think!
-
All those great names... Joined by Dan Cullen ???
-
Haha, Dan who? lol, not to mention the full time overseas such as Cam White, Jamie Cox, Murali Karthik.
-
Ramnaresh Sarwan was the worst
-
Without a shadow of a doubt Mustaq Ahmed - won trophies almost single-handedly for Sussex
-
Very good! :)

Was just about to mention mushy :D
-
And to further this the overseas player of 90s was Wasim Akram in my opinion. Both guys who fitted into their County like 'locals' and were loved by team-mates and fans for that reason, as well as being world-class performers of course!
-
Aravinda at Kent? Kumble at Northants? Saqlain at Surrey?
-
Wasim was the man. The best left armer of this era in my humble opinion.
-
Surely not better than Mullally?

The best left-arm bowler ever in the opinion of many wise cricketers
-
what abt some of WI batsmen from back in the day, like Sir Viv Richards?
-
Darren Lehmann was phenomenal at Yorkshire.
Also, Mike Hussey was prolific at Northants.
In the 90s, Carl Hooper & Wasim Akram.

There's plenty, hence why the topic was from the last 10 years!
-
sorry got carried away and missed the 10 year part...

Agreed.
Alongside Mushy, I think Rana Naveed and Saqlain Mushtaq did well at times they played together.
But overall Mushtaq's contribution was a much more significant than them.

Murray Goodwin?
Dale Benkenstein?
-
Chris Rogers must be up there
-
Murray Goodwin?
Dale Benkenstein?
I'd second both of those, although are they technically still overseas players and not kolpaks or qualified by residence?

Its so complicated now I have no idea lol
-
Allan Donald. He just sneaks into the 10 year bracket as he played 1 match for Worcs in 2002
-
Been watching county cricket for about 25 years now and in that time...the best player is hard to say, but the best in their roles for their respective clubs would have to be Wasim Akram, Darren Lehmann, Mushtaq Ahmed and Shane Warne. In each case, the players concerned fitted in, as one other poster put it, like locals and became part of the team rather than a highly paid gun for hire, and in each case the club was better for them.
Obviously, there are a few others who were quite amazing to boot - Sylvester Clarke at Surrey was one of the most fearsome sights, as was a young Allan Donald at Warwickshire, and I remember marvelling at a 16 year old Sachin Tendulkar from the boundary edge at Headingley, but to me the four above did something just a little more.
Beyond that, there are the Kolpakkers. Three stand out for me as worthy of mention - Michael DiVenuto and Dale Benkenstein, for all the work they did taking Durham from a new ish county to the very top of the pile, and a less auspicious name in Claude Henderson, who has been wonderful for the youngtsers now coming through at Leicestershire.
-
On Kolpakkers, Murray Goodwin's runs for Sussex were an important sideshow to Mushy's twirling.
-
I don't think you could beat Goodwin and Mushy.
Normally think that Voges is a fairly good overseas' signing too! :)
-
For sheer impact Ojha for Surrey last season has to get a mention, I know he was only there for a short while, but to return figures of 150.4-52-311-24 from 4 or 5 matches and average of 12.95 is pretty impressive!
-
Struass, Trott, Pietersen?

Struass, Trott, Pietersen?
Good shout but they hardly play any county cricket lol KP might as well sign for Devon he'll never play for them :D
-
Andy Flower?
-
Imagine what the South African team would be like if those player plus the others played for the country of birth. Woow.
-
Also add Prior to that list. He was born in SA

Then there is , Craig Kieswetter, Michael Lumb and Jade Dernbach.
Dont forget we stole Eoin Morgan as well. The Irish have a good side now it would be good to see them play a test.
