Ok ok, not so much the golden years, but stumbled upon a video from 1992 between 2 clubs that are in our Essex leagues.
Loving some of the old bats and did chuckle when I spotted 2 of my old team mates and one even takes a smart slip catch.

Nice video Burdy. Thanks for sharing. Who was the lanky opening bowler--he looked quite nippy.
The team bowling second had some good spinners :)

Not sure of the 'lanky' bowler to be honest but did look useful. I only can make out 2 players at the start, Robert (wicketkeeper) and Adrian Rollins (1st slip)
Would like to think the game has come a long way since then. I did enjoy seeing some of the older willow and how all the batting gloves looked so square.

I was going to say, the first slip looked fairly handy in there too!

I am sure he never fielded anywhere that involved running. He called himself a 'specialist' close or catching fielder, meaning he doesnt run!! saying that, with the size of his buckets, he didnt spill much.

Isn't the left-arm medium pacer a mid-40's John Lever?
