Thought I'd upload some pics of a new bat I've made for a team mate, he's always used big bats so here it is....pics to follow.
P.s it's not completely finished but you get the idea. It's the first bat I've made in my new workshop which is coming along nicely. Your comments are appreciated as usual.

Thanks, it's got a little bit of concaving to it. I'll upload a good pic in 2 mins
Personally I don't think it picks up bad for the weight.

Looks good mate, so does the workshop.
-
Cheers mate, still got loads to do in it though. Need to transfer all my tools etc and patch those holes and give it a paint lol. Also need to build some more racking lol.
Getting there though. Got another bat to make so doing that next weekend.
-
Is it somewhere your renting or just an outbuilding or something your doing up?
-
Not a bad stick there man size I like it
-
One I've been building over the last month and a half. Can't get that much done one day a week lol
-
Not a bad stick there man size I like it
Cheers roco, the edges and spine are massive! Edges are around 40mm and spine 65mm
-
Don't let simmy near it then
-
Don't worry mate, hes got enough bats lol. Think 3.2/3.4oz is too heavy for him anyway :D
-
Perfect for your guns then
-
Still be too heavy for my if I cut it in half lol
Need something lighter for my lovely stroke making :D
-
Yeah noticed you were a cultured stroke maker at the batoff
-
Hahahaha :D
No wonder I always find stupid/ weird ways of getting out.
-
What does everyone think of the stamp on the toe? Obviously "k" is for kelsall and "1" is for the first year making bats :D
Was going to stamp the shoulders but the bats not finished and I couldn't wait to give it a try.
-
I think it's a nice touch, and in quite a unique position, though I guess it can be worn off relatively easily through use, or else covered by a toe guard
-
Was going to put a toe guard on anyway so didn't know if the toe or shoulder is better.
-
Well when you're a world famous pod shaver, then this secret stamp can be your signature that only those in the know look for to prove that it is a genuine Ryan Kelsall bat! :D
-
Haha, I can only wish I was as good as the boys on here. They do it day in day out, I'm only a pretend pod shaver :(
-
WOW. that is the definition of a monster! lol, i might need to hit the gym first before i even contemplate on of these haha
-
Great work Ryan looks massive! :D
-
to heavy for me that thing! lol
-
oooohhh i do like a big bat me :D not enough blemishes on the face though :P
-
Looks a beast mate. Well done. Who's this for then??
-
its for scotty mate
-
Thought it might have been lol
-
he's told me to put two grips on and said "it'll be rate" lol
still think it could do with being more 3.2oz finished (stickers, 2 grips, toe guard etc).
-
He's never used a bat that heavy lmao. Just get it sold mate and leave him to it. Thinks he's bloody viv Richards haha
-
yep lol, i can see a weight reduction in the very near future lol
-
Sanded and buffed. Just the twine to finish off and stickers. Well done simmy for buffing it, think you've got yourself a job lol.
Put the guys initials on the shoulder (RS) nice touch I think.

Looks like a top job Ryan, the knot is almost hidden and the grains are better than you'll find in a £450 version.
-
Cheers mike, looks lovely in the flesh. I just can't get over how big it is!
Simmys is coming on nicely now (bat on the right), lovely shape and pickup.
-
I'll have to get you a low density cleft, you'll not make a 3lb'er with it though...
-
Looks a top stick RK
Well done my friend
-
yes you will mike!! i want one of them at 2.12 lol
-
Well if a low density cleft is 8 oz lighter to start then this bat would be 2.10....
-
dammmmmmmmmmmmmm sort it out lad!
-
Looks like my rp
Nice stick
-
Thanks mate, very happy with it :D
-
enormous is the only word for it! :D
