On a beautiful Sunday I took the chance to head into deepest Essex to have a look at the Blank Bats offering. Mike had recently visited the batmaker dude so I took the chance to head over and be the first to get the pick of the willow as it came in.
Mike handed me a mallet and left me to it. The bat on the right is the one I picked up:

It weighs 2lb 8oz, with a similar profile to some of the Screaming Cats out there. It's a great piece of willow. Really happy with it. I'll take some better photos tomorrow in the sun!

Love the light colour of it. Very nice shape, reminds me of myself, CHUNKY.
Where did Mike meet you? Sugar hut? :D
-
Met me at the train station, where he managed to get clamped and spent out £250 for getting that removed. Was an expensive day for Mike!
-
Oh please, you should not have told me that!! :D Sorry, really have got to laugh.
These clampers need to take a day off.
-
Turned out to be a very expensive day for me :(

Looks very good, stickers look quite nice too!
Overall very good looking bat, I'm sure it will play extremely well too!
I hope you score tons of runs with it!

Tom pal, did you see BlankBats Twenty20 bats? If so then how were they? How was handle, feel etc etc (everything really lol)
I'm after Canners for one of them but that guy seems like ignoring me, Stig etc everyone is getting one and poor Cover Drive is in poverty :( :(
;)

Nice looking bat, though not blank... and no edge stamp? (thought the edge stamps were cool!)

Thanks fella, Tom requested just the orange splice stickers
-
The willow is blank. Though I did get the option of a totally blank bat and wanted the stickers on.
Edge stamps, not a fan.
-
Nice - maybe you ought to make a bit more of the customisations you provide

I think Johnny means, can bats be bought with or without stampings & stickers etc

I will have mine wrapped in platinum with the BB branded sides in yellow diamonds.
I like the edge branding personally.
-
That's exactly what I mean.
I presumed that all blank bats would look the same in terms of branding and presentation, but have since seen some with splice stickers, some with out, some with an edge stamp, some without and some with a sticker on the toe and some without.
It was then unclear whether it's luck of the draw - (maybe these different brandings are associated with different bat suppliers?)
I guess you've now confirmed that these are customisable options open to the customer.

Have to change the brand name to
CBB (not the kids channel)
Custom Blank bats

after much deliberation we have decided that our different bat shapes will have different splice stickers, all will be revealed very shortly
thanks for the feedback

Does that mean I can't have shape A with shape B's stickers? Orange will clash with my other kit ;P
-
We will meet requests if you preferred to have a different shapes sticker colour
