Hi everyone, need a smidge of advice as of who to get to spike up me trainers, the Shoe Doctor of Taunton or Brian and Brenda. Brian and Brenda's prices are better, wondering if anyone has any pics of spikes they've got done through them as there's plenty of pics of the Shoe Doctors fine work but not many of Brian and Brenda's.
-
Anyone?

Wouldn't use Brian and Brenda after using Steve. He's customer service is far better! Nearly as good as Tomtek :D

a bump after an hour? nice to know you have high expectations of the members addiction to the forum!
I think this is a no loose choice my experience with b and b was first class and the guys in taunton seem to be great too.
the only difference is that at the moment b and b can do half spikes which tsd can't do, yet.
still toss a coin.
obviously if tsd were sponsors it would be an easier decision for you!

I think The Shoe Doctor has the pimples for the back of the foot, service is miles ahead, wanted to use B+B for my Y3 but they were so hard to communicate with and Steve is simply a phone call away.

Totally agree with that Mike, i've dealt with both companies and Steve was by far better with communication. However i cant comment on B&B's workmanship.

I had no issues with Brian, phone calls answered, shoes done in quick time... was the back end of the season mind. either way both do a good job.

I don't think you can go wrong using ether service.

Shoe doctor definitely did half spikes for tres and it's on the poster in SCS. Think they are £15/£20
-
are those of you who bat in spiked-up trainers not concerned about the lack of protection in the toe area? Have been mulling it over myself to get some trainers spiked up as i'm sure it's far more comfortable but that would be my only concern..?
-
I would be if I had bought trainers that are primary the mesh like material. But I have got for a more substantial trainers to combat this

Where'd you get that price from?
-
On the poster in SCS, I may be massively wrong though as I just glanced at it. £30 for full spikes, and it was definitely less for half spikes
-
£25 for half spikes IIRC

Thought I would get some trainers spiked up given that I have plenty of running shoes having trained for the London Marathon. I'm local-ish to Brian and Brenda do popped in to see them. Really pleased with the result. Both pairs are Adidas Supernova Sequence III. Cost was £47 for the two pairs.
