really nice grains & profile :)
looks higher middle than you usually like Simmy
-
the destinction rep had a very low middle so something bit higher will be fine :) see how it ends up after we have finished it
weight is 3lb dead at mo
-
What are you using for concaving?

looks a beauty there & she isn't finished yet
-
round bottom plane
-
It's getting there, still some shaping to finish then sanding. All depends how heavy simmy wants it. Can't get over the edge size. What did they measure simmy?
-
about 43mm lol
-
Another bat??? Haha you have a serious problem Simmy.
Looks good though ry
-
Cheers mate, only spent an hour on it. Most of that time was spent chatting to simmy and Scotty. Think Scotty is in love :D haha
-
Haha he's always in love. Good job the bat doesn't have breasts. He'd have proposed by now
-
Good work again mate. Looks like it's going to be a top stick again!
-
Well he was doing inappropriate things with it, strange guy lol

One of my friends is from Oz and she had an Oz night a while back, dress code was green and gold so had to buy a top. Its now surplus's to requirements so its my new pod shaving t-shirt. Don't mind getting crap all over it :D
-
Is that a DC727? Haha
no idea, cant remember what model it is
-
looks really good mate. hows the grinder/polisher dealing with that polishing mop?
-
its not bad actually, took the sanding wheel off the other side. Its giving a really good finish but still on the hunt for a different motor with a higher rpm
-
thats good mate. glad its improved slightly. it took me ages to find the motor and bits for mine. worth the wait tho.
-
True, I've got someone calling me today from a company that makes them. Apparently they can custom tweak them to the customer requirements. Very competitive price too.
-
hopfully if we get more powerfully one can do the sanding on that as well
-
All finished simmy, you'll have to come tomorrow and pick it up.

-
Surely too heavy for little old sim
-
bulldog is 2.15 big lad ;)
-
My bat is 2.14 fully gripped and that, but picks up nice so
-
True but thought you may be turning over a new leaf as a touch player but guess not
-
Made a cracking job of it, impressed again...
-
Lovely work and the stickers are such type that they keep on growing on me with time..
-
picks up really nice mate. Brayden was round earlier and commented how light it picked up. but I'll let you have a look tomorrow
-
brilliant work and loving the little toe stamp...
-
Keep getting the feeling that The Willow Baron is going to hire you soon Ryan!
-
nice bat ryan, very good work...
-
Great job fletch excellent job... Really not a fan of the willow though
-
to be honest the willow was grade 3 ish anyway due to the knot and a few blemishes. but you can't argue with the grains and performance. which matters more in my opinion. always nice to get both though.
thanks mike, Johnny et c. really enjoyed making this one!
-
Grains look great... Not keen on the knot though and where it is...
Nice shape though... You have done a great job
What are the marks on the face that look to go right through to the back?
-
them little black marks?
not sure what they are but a few of my bats have had them on i think my lam did
possibly
"Speck" is another which is due entirely to the growing conditions of the tree. The tree has grown in earth containing a lot of gravel and / or stones. The tree has taken tiny molecules up into itself with water and this gets deposited along in between the grains. It is purely cosmetic and is also the sign of a strong bat that will last.
-
I think your right in saying its a speck simmy, think it adds to the charachter of the bat. Like I say it's not a grade one or two so u'd expect that kind of thing to be found in the willow.
-
I thought the black lines/specs are to do with iron content in the soil when grown.
-
Not that sure, maybe talisman could confirm?

The tree has grown in earth containing a lot of gravel and / or stones/?
or maybe even iron??
-
The marks are stain, not growing stain, from being oversized cleft and not fully coming out with the moisture, just some sap causing it.
