Stupid teams, stupid 'celebrity' mascots no one has ever heard of, awful commentary, massively corrupt, mostly has-been players, no atmosphere, no decent matches and goes on too long. Other than these trifling points I quite like it.... :D

I dislike the IPL, As Pedals said, The games are tedious and all this gimmick with every catch affiliated with certain companies, Just give me test cricket please.

this reminds me of a very successful hindi movie called Sholay :)

On another note, my friends in US/Canada who wish to watch this use the link http://us.ipl.indiatimes.com/ its free and legal. Parent company of Indiatimes purchased the rights to show matches online last year and its actually a lot better than i thought it would be. Don't know if it would work anywhere else but ppl can always try...

It's cricket on TV before our season starts so it will attract some to it but has never been an easy watch with the overselling of each delivery/catch/four/stumping/six/run out..... It makes it all rather boring and rather offensive to those with a brain really, having said that I watch it for Chris Gayle....

I watch it for the dot balls.  Shame you don't see an ironic sort in the crowd with a poster to raise aloft over his head for every dot ball.  You don't often see a solid forward defensive in T20, we should celebrate vociferously when we do.

I wonder if Matt Smith has learnt anything about cricket yet? It has to be the most cringe worthy presenting team in the world.

But it is a distraction to work at least.

Apart from the over selling and the celeb involvement I really like it.

Love to watch the classical masters like tendulkar and kallis showing they do t20 format too.

no atmosphere,

I must be missing something here

it is cricket on free tv which involves lots of dlf maximums hot dancing girls and is colourful, ideal for me to watch with my son.
accept its limitations and enjoy it is my view.

It's cricket on terrestial TV, you never know, it might inspire the next Bell or KP to take up cricket, which can only be a good thing. Not everyone has Sky.

not sure about the cricket, but I am happy to watch more of isa guha, she was on. good form today.

actually I am loving being able to watch some cricket, even if the is a slight tendency towards the agricultural style of batting.

Completely agree with that mate, if the players didn't want to play because of the decision the umpires should have given the match to Decan!

Terrible terrible behavior

Pretty poor from Sanga too - he should have walked when he had seen the replay.

Would the replay have been shown on the big screen though? I thought they avoided showing 'dubious' decisions
Title: Re: IPL 2012

it was definitely on the big screen that is why all the bowling side had a massive go at the umpires.

But if it was on the big screen, why did the umpire not give it out or call for a 3rd umpire review under his own accord? I thought they were having a go at the umpire because of what Kartik would have said.

Not shocking really, I can't remember the last time Harbhajan behaved sportingly in a situation..
Title: Re: IPL 2012

I don't think it was on the big screen either otherwise Sanga wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere near the umpires. Harbhajan and Patel went mad after asking Kartik whether it was definitely out. Very poor all round but as Tush has said, Harbhajan Singh is a nasty piece of work anyway.

Okay... 'Awful behaviour from Patel and Harbhajan'. If no disciplinary action is taken after the game, then I'll have lost a lot respect for the IPL.

does get boring watching every other ball fly into the crowd, particularly when the boundaries pretty short. Pollard would've scored 6's on most grounds but it doesn't help.

Gayle using a Spartan cricket bat!

Think he would have the most number of brand sponsorships till now - Ihsan, CA, Spartan and a few others. Possibly changes sponsors depending on where he is playing - Big Bash or IPL or BPL etc etc.

Surprisingly, none of big names from India have used him yet. I think SS would not bother as they have Keiron Pollard.

what is frightening is having the imagination, to think of the shot, the eye to pick up the line and length, the hand eye co-ordination to play the shot and the skill and balance to do it.

brilliant, shows the advantage of standing still and having a hockey background!
