Let's talk about it!! 8)

This is a cricket forum?
-
Grahame Smith is out as he needs surgery on his ankle, and thats all I know. Think im going have to do some research so i can get up to speed :D
-
I hear the Springfield Isotopes have got a good squad this year.

Stupid teams, stupid 'celebrity' mascots no one has ever heard of, awful commentary, massively corrupt, mostly has-been players, no atmosphere, no decent matches and goes on too long. Other than these trifling points I quite like it.... :D
-
I dislike the IPL, As Pedals said, The games are tedious and all this gimmick with every catch affiliated with certain companies, Just give me test cricket please.

this reminds me of a very successful hindi movie called Sholay :)
On another note, my friends in US/Canada who wish to watch this use the link http://us.ipl.indiatimes.com/ its free and legal. Parent company of Indiatimes purchased the rights to show matches online last year and its actually a lot better than i thought it would be. Don't know if it would work anywhere else but ppl can always try...

It's cricket on TV before our season starts so it will attract some to it but has never been an easy watch with the overselling of each delivery/catch/four/stumping/six/run out..... It makes it all rather boring and rather offensive to those with a brain really, having said that I watch it for Chris Gayle....

I watch it for the dot balls. Shame you don't see an ironic sort in the crowd with a poster to raise aloft over his head for every dot ball. You don't often see a solid forward defensive in T20, we should celebrate vociferously when we do.
-
I wonder if Matt Smith has learnt anything about cricket yet? It has to be the most cringe worthy presenting team in the world.
But it is a distraction to work at least.
-
Apart from the over selling and the celeb involvement I really like it.
Love to watch the classical masters like tendulkar and kallis showing they do t20 format too.
no atmosphere,
I must be missing something here
-
it is cricket on free tv which involves lots of dlf maximums hot dancing girls and is colourful, ideal for me to watch with my son.
accept its limitations and enjoy it is my view.
-
It's cricket on terrestial TV, you never know, it might inspire the next Bell or KP to take up cricket, which can only be a good thing. Not everyone has Sky.
-
not sure about the cricket, but I am happy to watch more of isa guha, she was on. good form today.
actually I am loving being able to watch some cricket, even if the is a slight tendency towards the agricultural style of batting.
dravid looked quality today though.

Since when did cricketers start behaving like footballers? Shocking behaviour by Patel and Harbhajan Singh
-
Completely agree with that mate, if the players didn't want to play because of the decision the umpires should have given the match to Decan!
Terrible terrible behavior
-
Pretty poor from Sanga too - he should have walked when he had seen the replay.

Got to say, pretty weak umpiring though
-

Would the replay have been shown on the big screen though? I thought they avoided showing 'dubious' decisions
-
it was definitely on the big screen that is why all the bowling side had a massive go at the umpires.

But if it was on the big screen, why did the umpire not give it out or call for a 3rd umpire review under his own accord? I thought they were having a go at the umpire because of what Kartik would have said.

Not shocking really, I can't remember the last time Harbhajan behaved sportingly in a situation..
-
I don't think it was on the big screen either otherwise Sanga wouldn't have wanted to go anywhere near the umpires. Harbhajan and Patel went mad after asking Kartik whether it was definitely out. Very poor all round but as Tush has said, Harbhajan Singh is a nasty piece of work anyway.
-

Okay... 'Awful behaviour from Patel and Harbhajan'. If no disciplinary action is taken after the game, then I'll have lost a lot respect for the IPL.

I hope at least a couple of matches banned....money is not enough of a deterrent for these guys anymore....
-
I tell you what, you will struggle to see a better over than that in any cricket! WOW!!!! Dale Steyn, what a player!
-
Nick, he looked pretty pleased with himself hey?
-
I think whoever it was that gave him the send off after he got out will be shrinking into his seat in the dugout right now lol!
-
Safe to say Brad Hogg has still got it! Even at the age of 41 he still looks ever impressive!

Bowling as good as anyone, throught sharma was going to get going then
-
Pollard very nearly pro'd for my club about four years ago. That would have been a fun season, the club's insurance premiums may have gone up slightly the year after though
-
Have flicked on the IPL this afternoon, and one of the Rajashtan fielders is wearing an orange cap, whilst the rest of them are wearing blue. Does this signify anything?

He's top run scorer in the tournament this year
-
Purple is the most wickets also :)
-
He's top run scorer in the tournament this year
But there's only been about 3 games. How can that possibly be an accolade at this stage?
-
It's the IPL and your trying to make sense out of it....??
-
I'm surprised it isn't covered with sponsors!
-
Pollard is going like a train, great to watch
-

It's just a thing that they have all the way through the tournament
-
It's the IPL and your trying to make sense out of it....??
You're absolutely right. I'll turn back over to the proper cricket on Sky Sports 4
-
does get boring watching every other ball fly into the crowd, particularly when the boundaries pretty short. Pollard would've scored 6's on most grounds but it doesn't help.
-
Shah had a good knock, all in vain tho.
-
Gayle using a Spartan cricket bat!
Think he would have the most number of brand sponsorships till now - Ihsan, CA, Spartan and a few others. Possibly changes sponsors depending on where he is playing - Big Bash or IPL or BPL etc etc.
Surprisingly, none of big names from India have used him yet. I think SS would not bother as they have Keiron Pollard.
-
He's having a good knock too. That last 6 was huge
-
Keeping up-to-date on cricinfo with the IPL game on atm, looks like a cracking win! great knock from albie morkel 400 strike rate.
-
What a game !!!
Royal Challengers 205 off their 20, CSK miles behind till A Morkel hits 28 off the penultimate over leaving 15 to win off the final over and win on the last ball with a 4
Awesome game
-
Dan Christian's bat looks like a match stick. He'm a big unit!
-
Hopefully See Kyle Abbott play tomorrow, he had a couple of years at our club as overseas and did really well! And I imagine He's getting paid a whole lot more than we paid him!!
-
did anyone see ab de villiars yesterday? some of his shot making was astonishing... paddle sweep for 6, reverse cut over the keeper for 6 and many more unreal shots...
-
What made that worse was the fact he said he for not practice those shots just does them on instinct
-

I laughed when he said that live! Unbelievable shots though.
-
what is frightening is having the imagination, to think of the shot, the eye to pick up the line and length, the hand eye co-ordination to play the shot and the skill and balance to do it.
brilliant, shows the advantage of standing still and having a hockey background!
-

What does a reverse cut look like?
-
Imagine playing a cut shot for six, but rotating your hands so you hit the ball over first slip for 6. Not sure I gave it the best name - but I have no idea what else to call it!!
-
Similair to a square upper cut?
-
Surely a late uppercut? :D
-
Shot at 0:52!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBoqsMdWbXA
-
Meh!!.....Both full tosses..........hit them wherever you want.... ;)
Reverse Pull maybe?
-
To hit it where he has, with the opposite hand takes some talent. Not taking it away from him! :)
-
just watching kings XI punjab vs KKR and KXIP are wearing green helmets is this a hints at a colour change for next year or for charity?
-
I don't know but it clashes horrendously! :D
-
yeah i know i quite like it but on its own not with the red, they have like a really faded green cap/sun hats as well
-
KP really cutting lose..huge huge 6's
-
KP carving up, bigtime
-
KP not far from his maiden Ipl ton brutal batting
-
2 needed, KP on 97
-
does it with a 6. Typical
-
I'm sure he marked the landmark with a polite raise of the bat and a firm but relaxed handshake with his batting partner...
-
awesome innings from pieterson. how big was that six into the top tier :)
-
I'm sure he marked the landmark with a polite raise of the bat and a firm but relaxed handshake with his batting partner...
Actually, a little smile, tucked his bat under his arm and shook hands with his partner....
-
Delhi had a good start to their innings. Losing quick wickets with Sehwag just going and Ross Taylor coming in, using an Epic instead of Icon.
Anyway will be switching to El Clasico in a sec
-
Munaf Patel is the biggest idiot ever!
I can't stand the bloke, especially after being sent for 3 fours in an over, to turn around and then give the batsmen stick. Why would you do that?!
-
Gotta agree mate, he is a massive helmet!
-
Massive helmet doesn't cover it.
I'd be banned if I could say the words that I want to say! :|
-
Gayle just cleared ground with a monster hit
New spartan stickers look better
-
111m is an astonishing smash, and I agree those spartan stickers look lovely!
-
They should introduce a 12 in Ipl for anything over 110 metres it was incredibly huge !
-
ab de villiars just took steyn for 23 in an over. unreal.
-
Banter at the next sa match
Best finisher out there
-
AB is possibly the best batsmen in all forms of the game in the world
He's absolutely unreal, should be 3 for RCB all day
-
Am I the only one who creases when Danny Morrison refers to Delhi Daredevils as the "Double D's" ?
-
That's not the only thing that creases me up about Danny Morrison lol, him and jackers are immense on there!
-
I cannot stand Danny Morrison, especially when he is on camera...
-
Narine is unplayable today!
I would love to see Gayle, Narine, bravo, plus Taylor and Lawson in the windies team...
-
Lawson? As in Jermaine? He hasn't played any proper cricket since 2008
-
so it would appear, but he is only 30 - where has he gone? A pretty frightening prospect for a club match!!
-
chucker
