So watched the last day of Somerset v Middlesex today and Ayrtek was on show with Arul Suppiah wearing his throughout his time spent at short leg. Tom may also be interested to know that Marcus also donned the helmet for 2 overs as Arul bowled. Should be some photos around somewhere!
Also, went to the club shop to try one on. Vision was brilliant compared to my Masuri and felt alot more stable. It's also good not to have your chin poking out beneath the grille! One problem stopped me from buying one though; I found it was quite painful on the side of my head (temples) and in all gave me a headache. I adjusted it just as I was told in the manual but just couldn't get it right. Would the sweatbands help with this?

The foams inside the helmets soften and mould to your head once uv worn them, but like breaking in a new pair of pads to get them a bitter supple.
Great to hear they are getting used down there as always nice to get them into the local counties around us :)
-
Good to know, It's not my massive head then. Felt so secure on my head though. Vision is considerably better!
-
How come he is no longer wearing one?

Thats a bit unfair but also a huge compliment
-
Well keep on doing our thing as we have set a safety bench mark which were happy with :)
Albion have pushed the price of their ultimate helmet up as a result on ours too, they have queen around for 25 years plus ad were still finding our feet as a small company.

I know players have the right to make money but whatever happened to loyalty to a good quality product rather than putting on whatever is given to you by whoever give you the most money.. I know more money is good but common there must be a limit...plus arent they making enough by just playing cricket?
rant over...
-
No no, rant some more. These players don't need the money from these "sponsors". It's just like baseball here in North America. Players get paid millions and then use a piece of crap glove because some company said we'll give you $5,000US to use our sh*tty glove! The average player in Major League Baseball earns more than $5,000 from the time they go to bed until the time they get up, shower and have breakfast.
Tom, keep your head up! These big companies are scared.
-
Its incredible how quickly Ayrtek have managed to get professional players wearing their helmets, its a testament to how good the ayrtek helmets must be, that the other helmet manufacturers are scared of you :)
-
The players don't get paid to wear Albion. The deal is with the county.
-
It could be written into the players contract with the county?
Although if I was a coach then I'd want my players wearing the best possible. Maybe Suppiah likes the Albion? Compton is still wearing masuri, same with Buttler and a couple others. Kirby is using the GN instead of the Ayrtek that was dropped of to him when I was up there

Thats not much better is it? as a player if someone told me wear this coz someone else is paying me for you to wear this i would be fine as long as it is something i want to use...but then again its all money...
-
We'd love to be in the position to give each county 60 helmets but they would most probably want the Elite's which cost a lot more to make than other helmets due the the high spec materials.
We will continue to grow as a brand I hope and players who realise the benefits of our products will continue to use them :)
-
If a player puts £ before their safety then may they get hit in the helmet lots.
-
It's like GM going to Trott and saying, can you please use the 606 range this test as we want to get more exposure for that range and him saying yes for more money!
Us consumers that have seen the benefits of an Ayrtek and put our hand in our pocket to buy one would never go back and wear a sports world slazenger helmet! Pros have seen the benefits and those that have gone back from the ayrtek to other helmets. I hope it's for contractual reasons rather than £

He is fielding at short leg in an Ayrtek

Good spot JW nice to see they still have them :)
-
I'd be happy if they would at least stop some runs by getting their heads in the ways...
