Title: Ca plus 15000 **** PICS ADDED PAGE 3
Post by: pumakid on April 08, 2012, 07:31:27 PM
Hi,

Thinking of buying a ca plus 15000 for a mate!
Any ideas on prices am I right in thinking this is the current best model from CA ie above the TRD LE edition.

Got a contact offering the bat for 22000rps direct from factory is this about right? However would prefer to purchase from UK sellers
Any help and reviews would be appreciated

If you use a UK retailer, you're bound to get ripped off.
Try trustworthy websites like Cricmall or; if you remember him, Armie, who used to be a sponsor on here.

There were a few on eBay with sellers claiming stock was available in the UK

I came from nets and I saw this bat for the first time and believe me I was blown away! It has exceeded my expectations enormously!

It has big profile and extremely minimal concaving while TRD has more concaving compared to 15000 Plus so yes TRD and CA 15000 Plus are different indeed.

You can PM armie or you can contact Sialkot Shop guy (he has a website too!) and this guy can sort you out.

I have been told the same by a very reliable source in the industry who has made bat for the Giant

Ok I agree with you all.
I am aware that ca does or did make bats for Gayle so it may be a possibility that this is one of them it may be one he uses in training who knows??
to be honest am not really bothered but it's good assurance that the bat must be of very good quality and thus for me to use at club level will be more than adequate.

The guy from the factory specifically told me that this is one of 15 to be sent to Gayle and then it was held back for nasir jamshed and then the agent bought the bat

Ebay ones at that price are almost certainly fake........direct from supplier works out about £260! (at least according to the original post here)

Shame, I would actually quite like one...

Ok go tthe bat and OH MY GODDDDDDDDD its 2.10 picks up like a feather and without doubt the finist willow i have ever seen heres a few pics along side my alastair cook's oblivion LE rejected bat.

Also picked up soem TRD pads in total for both i paid £205.00  for both pads and bat and mate paid the postage lol. best £200 i have ever paid am sure this bat will be a gun.

NB: The edges are quite straight on this do i need to knock it in on th eedges to round the edge a bit... cheers for looking..

It also came with a sheet shall i oil the bat forst then apply the sheet or just put sheet n first?
just pinging a ball on it is amazing but there are tiny seam marks does this mean it needs more knocking in as it says fully knocked?

I don't know all I know us the price was 26k in Pak which is about 180 quid he must of got slight discount being a first class player and pads were about 20 quid.

Still not sure on the oiling knocking in process

I guess the willow looks ok, but those stickers. The stickers alone would out me off buying the bat. I could take them off, but then there's the branding!

Looks lovely, and a bargain price too.

Roll the edges to 45 degrees and then knock it in with care. If your putting a scuff sheet on then there is no need to oil the face

Looks very good! I held one of these the other day and its amazing stick! Lovely! I'm sure it will serve you quite well! CA pads has improved immensely over the years.

Yes, you will need to knock it and oil it

It has flat face but is cracking stick!

I am aware of Kamran, he is a decent player

Yeah am a very close to kamran hes a very good player hes just don e spell in Bangladesh and now jetting off to Ireland.

The bat i got was wrapped in a plastic film theres a strong smell of glue from the handle and if putting the supplied cover sheet on is there any point in oiling the face?

The pads are quite light am still getting used to the shape of them although mens adult was ordered they look a bit tight and small not too sure on that they may need breaking in.

cheers cover drive

Since they are Asian Mens thta means UK Small Mens

If you ask me I would oil the face (lightly) and then knock, so two weeks after first oiling I would apply scuff sheet.

No worries, this look lovely! Keep us updated on its performance

How does handle look? The one I saw had three rubber strips, what about yours?
Title: Re: Ca plus 15000 **** PICS ADDED PAGE 3
Post by: pumakid on April 26, 2012, 12:01:28 AM
yeah its got a nice grippy octopus type grip on the handle feels nice its got a tiny bit of spring in it or so it feels like i dunno if this is normal or just me as the gray nicolls feels the same i think its just the round dimples on the grip though.

It does have 3 strips of rubber in it though.

AM a bit peed with the pads if thats the case do they do large mens in the same style just been on CA website and they have CA 15000 PADS NOW ASWELL!!!!!!!!!! ARGHHHH

Hmm I'm not too sure about pads actually, I'll find out for you.

I got CA15000 Plus gloves the other day and they are amazing! But again small but excellent gloves for like £16 (has genuine pittard)

CA have improved there handles, the three rubber strips were not in previous models. So good move for CA, they are improving quite rapidly

Yeah that woudl be great if you could they just seemed a little small ie the strap goes halfway round my calfs and am a normal sized guy!

Compared to my ca 10000 pads they seem shrunk but if there small size ill have to sell them and get the new 15000 pads they look the lick!

Actually quite surprising, the 12000 Plus I have has long straps and excess is popping out. I think they have changed the strap sizing and made them small

How do you know it's a Cook reject? What makes it a reject. I got the impression that Cook rocks up to the Gray-Nics factory and hand picks his bats, so doesn't that just make it a Gray-Nics bat that he didn't select

Yes the GN is a gun it has 42mm edges lol it picks up so light, i know it was made for cook but he rejected it on the grounds that there is a slight surface mark and the  Gray Nicolls guy was saying he reected it as for Tv purposes it has to be a clean blade subsequently went into the 'GRAY NICOLLS Waste bin', i picked it up from their head office down south.... so the story goes

Its a absolute beut of a bat but aesthitically nowhere near the CA

Rub your bat against the bath tub wall curve, or use a mallet handle on the edge...dont need a lot of force, i actually suggest starting very lightly and then increasing the force a little bit every time you start again 3-4 times against the tub should do it for each edge..

Ah right i used a pvc window sill nice round edge i can tell the difference cheers

So now ot the knockign in shall i do 30 mins on edges and toe and 30 across face then ill apply the face sheet and oil all round the bare parts

Just focus on knocking in the toe, rounding edges and area close to the edges I normally don't knock the middle in too much (maybe 20mins)
