Having wanted to get my hands on a Salix for ages, I took advantage of a great pro direct cricket offer to pick up a Praestantia Performance from 2011 at a knockdown price. The bats really are finished beautifully and it seems nice enough off the mallet. It is amazing how some would grade this a grade 1...

Lovely looking bat as you'd expect from salix. You won't be disappointed. My pod's like a wand and the ball just seems to fly off effortlessly.
-
That looks lovely, although I would get the grip the other way up asap...!
We really need a net to test all your new bats!!
-
i like
-
Salix bats are sheer class really! I got a Rogue and it is cracking bat!! Grainwise it too looks similar to this but obviously this will outperform it as this is non-rogue
Salix's finishing is amazing indeed
Hope you score tons of runs with this!
Buzz mate plan a Batoff please? :D

Given you a date ;) At least I've managed to rotate a reasonable number out too...

What's the offer they had on???

Do you mean that you think it isn't a G1 or that it should be a G1?!
-
I believe salix grade their bats on performance and not looks
-
I think it looks better than some g1 willow and it certainly bounces better of the mallet than at least three g2 bats I've had from major manufacturers.

Don't you believe that, looks sell bats.

Lovely bat, am always amazed how Salix are able to produce their bats with low weights from 2.6 -- 2.9

i can see how they do it all there bats are small!
-
They are pretty thin with lots of concaving, hence the light weights.
-
No problem with that, a sensible move.
-
It's funny that you think they are small. That's not how I would have described them.
-
Neither would I, owning a 2lb 6oz Salix I would know
-
So here is the fpote for comparison

That is one stunning bat!

I agree. Andrew knows what he is doing, making exceptionally functional objects d'art.
-
hmm that does not look like a small bat...some concaving but in the moderate category....lovely stick..
-
Small bats?! I laughed out so loud reading those comments, Andrew is a legendary batmaker so as Tim said he knows what he is doing.
-
Love the bat!! However, no one commented on The Hunger Games trilogy in the photos? Has the literary standards of mother Britannia sunk that low? ;))
-
It is not easy to make a 2.6 bat finished in SH size, that would mean the bat is only 2.2 or 2.3 before binding, grip and stickers. Would love to see the profile photos of a 2.6 bat.

We all need a comic from time to time... Something to flick through quickly when The Sun just won't do...
I wondered if someone might spot it...
-
Was this a blind purchase Tim or did ProDirect give you some pics?
-
That is a real stunner Tim. Classically elegant.....a bat for a gentleman! :D

Yah, yah, yah I understand. You still should have said it was the wifes/girlfriends whatever. My wife loves it, I mock her as much as I can without having to sleep on the couch. :))
Again, great bat at a great price!

Totally blind, although to be fair, totally blind on a Salix isn't really a risk.

I quite agree, and at £133 including postage, a bit of a bargain too.

I quite enjoyed it. The three books took two days over Easter to read... And now I don't need to see the film! And I just know you've read it!
