I picked this up from Asad a couple of months ago and have only just got round to knocking it in and taking it to nets (apologies Asad for the delay in review).

It was bought mainly out of interest in trying one and having seen them on here. It is the cheaper type with a bit glued on the back, and I have to say it is amazing.

After long discussions with Asad & Uzi I decided to try one of these and thanks to much help from Uzi decided that this felt as good as some of the more expensive laminates.

I went for a 2.9 and having given it a bit of knocking in and a scuff sheet took it to nets last weekend.

It got massive amounts of attention due to its size and the amazing grains and have to say it was great and so powerful. Even a gentle push flew back past the bowler!

Thanks Asad for the bat and the stickers, it is a true bargain and I'm sure I'll be in again soon!

Looks a nice bat.
however, I have a more general laminate question: are people past the hand-wringing over the fact they're illegal for use in actual games?

I'll stick to using a legal bat, as it's no different to not walking, regardless of what people say! And really I'm not good enough for it to make much of a difference ;) Seen a few in th elondon leagues though. Mostly CA Gels.

I'm not entirely sure that I'll use this in league games, the Hattori and Oblivion can cover that but on Sundays I'm not sure I see a problem.

This season it will be in South Thames, but last season I played a number of games in Surrey Cricket League. That was where the doublewoods were.

I cant say I do. Only joined 3/4 years ago so could be before then?
