Post by: psincock on April 12, 2012, 03:56:45 PM
Wasnt sure where to put this, so please move its in the wrong place

Has anybody been on the Sports Direct website recently ?
I have just been on there and it looks as though they are going to be stocking a lot more manufacturers this year.
Mongoose, Newbery, Aero and readers have all popped up in the various cricket sections

Was up at their hq last week and they are expanding into anotheR 1.8m sq foot depot to allow picking space for the website products!!

Sheer size of the set-up is unreal...current warehouse is 22 football pitches in length with 1000 staff picking & packing orders.

Ordered something through them yesterday which has been sent today as they have incoming goods from 3am-3pm and out going 3pm-3am in cycles each day :)

The Pavilion is on the 5th Floor of Lilywhites. I'm heading over to the west end tomorrow night so I may pop in and have a look, and possibly post a couple of pictures.

hopefully the more bats they have the greater the chance they will price some up wrong at the end of the season as they have been known to do.  I always pop into any SD to check what bats they have and their prices

I went to Lilywhites on Saturday; prices are fair for a non-internet store.
Their Slazengers are very nice, grainwise - perhaps they're first choice given the SD connection. One VERY nice V500 and I like the V200 pickup/shape.
Only Right-handed softs though, which is blatantly discrimination.

Slaz are owned by sports direct so will no put their top end kit into lillywhites where they feel top end kit will be accepted due to location etc

There stores still resemble jumble sales.

I cannot understand how they are still so successful. They have bought a succession of decent brand names then put them on to far eastern crap.
There are some decent bargains to be had in their end of season cricket clearout though  :)

.......Just don't eat the chase that's in your store! I'm going to have a nose around in there on Monday to see what the craic is.
