Title: A pie and a blank bat.
Post by: Buzz on April 12, 2012, 05:52:20 PM
As you will have seen, I had a net with Canners and have been in discussions with him for about 3 months about getting a low middled bat, with a flat face around the 2 lbs 9 mark.

Last night Canners, knowing the Stig and I would be there bought a huge bag of about 30 bats and proceeded to pull out all the 2lbs 8 bats, in two of the 4, full size shapes he has.

It was an unbelieveable tough choice, but somehow I have ended up with this ABSOLUTE MONSTER - it really is a beast.

I have loads of pictures, but here are a few tasters...

time for the huge coin on the edge test:

I used it with the bowling machine (as did the Stig) - there results were very impressive... as was the pick up, which for a low middled bat was really good.

oh and proof it is a full sized bat:

Mr Blank Bats, thank you - and this is unreal  :o

the website price for these, I think is £225 - there is a forum discount, which Blank Bats can inform everyone of - I paid a lot of money for this - with a slight discount, but not massive and there was no postage involved.

money well spent.

What is the other bat in the last photo?

That will be an original Revolution bat, obtained from a former forum sponsor - the new one goes at least as well as this :)
I want to know more about the pie.

Chicken and Mushroom pie.
very good it was too ;)

A beauty of a bat!! Good call on the pie, perhaps I will get the missus to whip one up. I'm sure the response will be "make it your own *#$#^& self".

having used this bat for most of this season, I sent it for a clean up to Sillyshilly. I also asked to see if he could take a little weight out of it as I was finding it fractionally heavy at times, if possible, but to leave the spine height...

the before is above and this is the after I have to say I am very pleased with the slightly softened shape and the pick up is still lovely!

it seems to have come back bigger than before!! Now all my bats weigh 2lbs 10.6oz with my preferred grip set up (half a thick or octopus grip and a chevron/matrix over the top) the yellow is for my son, who insists everything is yellow!! :)

You'll be needing new stickers for that - Canners, you should see if your supplier can do MCC colours.
