This bat from a regular company that uses stickers, grips, toe guards and scuff sheets it probably would be pushing 2lbs 12oz
-
Liam Weight includes toe guard.
Scuff sheet an ounce tops
Grip an ounce so probs looking at 2.10 ish.
The grip whilst adding weight will improve pick up.

Didn't see the toe guard. My Talisman is a massive 2lbs 7oz (with T/G) naked, with everything on it comes in around 2lbs 11oz
I'm not saying yours is a bad bat or a non regular company.
Just with veryone saying 'ohh it's massive for a 2lbs 8oz', if they stripped back a 2lbs 12oz GN/Kook/GM etc. to the same state as yours then it would weigh similar.

theyd probably still quote it at 2.8
-
for me its about size - is it a big bat for the weight, you want to get an idea of the volume of wood in the blade, well i do anyway. we're quite lucky there are a few big bats in the current stock.
