Title: Performance with major willow blemishes
Post by: hit4six on April 22, 2012, 05:07:58 PM
I have recently picked up a lovely bat from Steve at MSR as a spare bat for the season. I know some people have had poor experiences with bats from eBay but I have had 8 bats from him now, all of which are still going strong.

The bat received was a 2.10 ST style profile, 38mm edges, lovely grains on the face and excellent pickup. There is an horrible knot in the back of this bat, and my question is, do we think this will affect the bat at all?! Your thoughts?

Doesn't look an ST profile to me, and I have no idea about the knot, just it looks bad

The only way to tell is to get it out in the middle, these dead knots are fine if glued in and secure for strength, if high or low in the blade they do not lower performance.
